To be fair, these matches between Japanese players at Kongo saga weren't supposed to happen and only did because of upsets. - Kome was seeded to fight void but Gackt upset him; - Zackray was meant to fight Lui$ who got upset by firehado and so T beat him; - And Kuro was supposed to fight Cosmos but got Umeki instead. So this was less of a case of them seeding Japaneses players to eliminate each other (in fact, they actively tried to avoid it as much as possible) and more that they underestimated Japan's ability to make upsets. But then again, given how stupidly stacked and upset heavy this tournament was in general and how many strong Japanese players there were, I'm not sure there was a fullproof way to prevent those matches from happening.
