Thanks, I learn as I go. I learn something new from every project I do. I think the secret is to just jump in and do it without worrying about screwing up.
Your columns turned out great! We just got about 20 of those blocks of foam. I hope I have time to play with them this season. I would love to make some columns....that is one thing I have not made for our haunt. You know I am going to ask for the link to those cool lanterns you got from Amazon! I love the flame effect. Thanks so much for always sharing your awesome tutorial videos! I love them.
I love your videos. Thanks for posting them. Do you have any more information on making the gates? My sons have wanted me to make something like this for the past couple years. I'd love to make it happen this year!
They held up just fine through a month of rain and sun here in Virginia for two Halloweens so far. If I were in a harsher climate I would hard coat them for extra protection.
Depends on what I'm base coating. For plain foam I like to use Valspar flat black latex enamel. Seems to hold well to foam, wood and other porous/semi porous materials. If I am base coating latex I mix 3 parts interior latex paint to 1 part liquid latex and add just enough water to keep it thin enough to brush on smoothly. Mixing latex into the paint makes it stick to raw latex a lot better than it would being just straight paint. - It's an Ed Edmunds/Distortions trick
@@OakLaneCemetery Thank you. I've always wanted to have an elaborate display and you're work has been very inspiring. Way better than the stuff you can get from the box stores and Spirit. I've not worked with latex before so I'm excited to get started. Ordered a gallon from Black Lagoon. They are really good people by the way.
Solar lanterns! Genius!
I'm going to try to make these for my daughter's musical if I have enough time after making a noodle tree. Wish me luck I've never done it before. 😬
What a great result. Very envious of your carving and painting skills.

I did a tutorial on facebook for my pvc fence. Some details on the gate are in that photo album too.
wow! impressive!!
Awesome work!! What kinda of base is the light sitting in ?
This is badass!
Looks good
great!! where did you buy your lamps?
Amazing looking columns! How did you anchor them to the ground? PVC over rebar?
Yep. They attach to the fence and gate as well and are further braced by them.
hi these look great! how do they hold up in rain/snow or do you make a new one ?

I've seen in a few of your tutorials now "black base coat". Is that a special latex base product or just a base coat of black exterior paint?

Are your gates and fencing made by you or are they real pieces you purchased? Thank you in advance!
I made the fence and gate also. PVC conduit. wood slats, and some plastic finials ordered from Kings Iron and Metal.
