  • There are times where rappers make it big and still return to their starting ground, and on the other hand, there are some rappers who decide to leave their hood to protect themselves from lingering problems. In this case, Bossie Badazz decided to leave Baton Rouge due to his legal issues with public officials, fear of getting set up by the police, and former friends who became envious of his success and-which he claims-are "hypnotized with hatred."
In this interview, Boosie explains how Louisiana pushed out some of their biggest stars like, Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Master P and explains his final decision to relocate in Atlanta.
Check out the full interview above.

@Jay Key you are a tard. A wise man learns from anywhere and everything that allows him to learn. A lot of people won't take your word for shit if you personally haven't lived through what they have whether it be going bankrupt, taking a huge loss period, losing a parent, child, sibling, friend or whomever else is closet to you, being an orphan, being addicted to anything (alcoholi,, drugs, sex, gambling, etc), etc, etc.
The richest people in the world you know by name all took HUGE financial losses, and they knew about others who had so are they not wise coming out of that now on top of the world?
Man your thinking is so shallow. You still have much to learn.

This is so true. I grew up in northeast Florida. Went off to the military, got a degree, then landed a great career as a defense contractor earning 6 figures working overseas for 8 to 10 months out of the year. Finally I decided to come back home to visit my family and attend my cousins wedding. I had just got a 3 year lease on new Porsche macan and thought it would be nice to go on a road trip to my family instead of fly.
I made it home and was talking to my mother. She told me my friend Dee and his mother still stayed in the same house up the road. So after lunch I walked to his house and his mother answer she was great as always. She said he wasn’t home but she’d let him know I stopped by and was in town.
Later on that night he came to my parent’s house so he had dinner with us like we use to do when we were kids. Afterwards we were chilling in the back yard chatting.
He kept asking me about what I did for a living, how much money I had in the bank. Where did I stay, how much my car cost. He literally wanted to see my bank account to see how much I had in it. He was bizarre. Then wanted me to lend him thousands of dollars. I thought he was joking but he was dead ass serious though.
I brush off all the questions and then he was like we should go hit up the strip club. I was like nah thats not my thing but let’s go play some basketball tomorrow after I finish church.
He then started trying to pressure me into letting him borrow my Porsche for the night. After I let him know that’s not happening he flipped out on me.
He starting cursing me out and was like Nigga you think you better then me because you got money and be hanging with those white people I’ll beat your ass. Pussy ass Nigga I’ll take your car. Blah blah blah
I was like dude this is a white neighborhood it’s only 10 black families who stay in this subdivision.
He started calling me a coon and Uncle Tom. I was like bro what’s up with you man I don’t understand why you coming at me like this. He finally left my parents house and walked back to his mom’s house.
I told my father what had happened and he was like “Dee has changed” and told me to put my car into the garage. My dad took his car out so I could put mines in with my mothers.
The next morning my father car and his work truck had all the tires slashed and this wasn’t even the ghetto. We called the police and did a report. The Neighbor across the street came over and asked what happened and we showed them. They said they had a few cameras they could check. Sure enough him and a few of his friends came back around 3am and slashed the tires. Luckily my parents flood lights came on so they could see him perfectly on camera.
The police then went to his house with me as a witness to say it was him. They arrested him and he started saying we were dead. He ended up going to prison as he violated his parole.
The hate i received was crazy. I have no doubt that if I had took him to the strip club that he would have got me robbed and killed.
This was a guy I had known since the 2nd grade and considered my best childhood friend.
    He was “Hypnotized by Hate”
My parents ended up selling their home they had built and leaving the neighborhood they had lived in for 25 years before he finished his prison sentence.
It’s always your own people and friends in the black community that want to take you life when you become successful.

When he said, hypnotized by hatred it took me back. When we came into the game there was such a thing as artist development or A&R. Some artist's are NOTHING like what you see after they've toatally revamped these people. They got tutored in walking, how to interview, carry themselves. they were told what they could not or better yet should not do anymore. Playing gangster on wax was one thing you didn't do. Real gangsters were going to get at you, period. They were the star's. They make it pop. They make it rain. The sun don't shine if they don't want it too. Lol what this dude said is the honest to god truth. This dude is looking at his girl watching your video and is way too into it for his liking. He can't wait to see you. At home people know you or know about you. Sooner or later you're going to move. They make it almost impossible for you stay there.

TrustMeI'mADoctor, It sounds real and anybody can get up there and say it... I will applaud him for doing this, however its one thing to speak all the true stuff but its another to apply it to yourself. In other words, Boosie is rich and well known and well respected as well. But he needs to start with himself by saying that his very own raps contributed to the destruction of our people. If he takes accountability for his own contributions to our communities, than he is being real to me. Next, now that he acknowledges it, he needs to do something about it, like coming out in public and saying that what he contributed to is not good and it needs to stop, then he needs to start making raps with positive language in it. To me, thats being real regardless of whether he wins people over or he loses his fan base and therefore loses money. Somebody being real is someone who admits there is a problem and that they are/were a part of the problem but is now changing for the sake of the people. You can't just talk about the problem and then come back produce more rap that continues to preach bad stuff that is killing us in the streets. If you are going to be real, then be real and live it.

Where I come from most people are on limited income (retirement, section 8 housing, food stamps, disability, Medicaid, etc). Someone making $50K a year is successful to them. I feel where he's coming from. People gotta understand, just because you leave your hometown, you are not OBLIGATED to do anything for anyone. He's the regular guy that made it out the hood, and doesn't want to go back because clearly there was nothing there for him to do him any justice and the first thing people say is "You forgot where you came from"... no, you can make it out of somewhere and NEVER forget where you came from, and still not do anything for that city, it could be lots of personal struggles a person had there. You're only obligated to remember the people that was there for you while you were there, not obligated to the city.If I barely had a good life living there you think I'm gonna come back cause you think I owe something? The city didn't even do anything or owe me nothing so why would I go back? The only reason I'd go back is to maybe do a concert once in a while, lend my hand out to a couple people that deserve it, other than that, no shame at all

I kid you knot, if you start making it better that those around you trust me, hatred and jealousy will develop, wasn't jealousy the original sin?

Appearing better than others is always dangerous, but most dangerous of all is to appear to have no faults or weaknesses. Envy creates silent enemies. It is smart to occasionally display defects, and admit to harmless vices, in order to deflect envy and appear more human and approachable. Only gods and the dead can seem perfect with impunity.
      Green Eyed-Monsters
Only a minority can succeed at the game of life, and that minority inevitably arouses the envy of those around them.
      · Once success happens your way, however, the people to fear the most are those in your own circle, the friends and acquaintances you have left behind.
      · Feelings of inferiority gnaw at them; the thought of your success only heightens their feelings of stagnation.
      · Envy, which the philosopher Kierkegaard calls "unhappy admiration," takes hold.
      · You may not see it but you will feel it someday-unless, that is, you learn strategies of deflection, little sacrifices to the gods of success.
      · Either cloud your brilliance occasionally, purposefully revealing a defect, weakness, or anxiety, or attributing your success to luck; or simply find yourself new friends.
      · Never underestimate the power of envy.
      The Power Envy
      1. The insidious envy of the masses can actually be deflected quite easily: Appear as one of them in style and values.
      2. Make alliances with those below you, and elevate them to positions of power to secure their support in times of need.
      3. Never flaunt your wealth, and carefully conceal the degree to which it has bought influence.
      4. Make a display of deferring to others, as if they were more powerful than you.
      5. Never be so foolish as to believe that you are stirring up admiration by flaunting the qualities that raise you above others.
      · By making others aware of their inferior position, you are only stirring up "unhappy admiration," or envy, which will gnaw away at them until they undermine you in ways you cannot foresee.
      6. The master of power understands that the appearance of superiority over others is inconsequential next to the reality of it.
“Envy is a weed that should not be watered." Cosimo de Medici.
Strategies for Dealing with Emotions of Envy
      1. Accept the fact that there will be people who will surpass you in some way, and also tile fact that you may envy them.
      2. Make that feeling a way of pushing yourself to equal or surpass them some-day.
      3. Let envy turn inward and it poisons the soul; expel it outward and it can move you to greater heights.
      4. Understand that as you gain power, those below you will feel envious of you. They may not show it but it is inevitable. Do not naively accept the facade they show you-read between the lines of their criticisms, their little sarcastic remarks, the signs of backstabbing, the excessive praise that is preparing you for a fall, the resentful look in the eye. Half the problem with envy comes when we do not recognize it until it is too late.
      5. Since it is far easier to avoid creating envy in the first place than to get rid of it once it is there, you should strategize to forestall it before it grows.
      6. It is often your own actions that stir up envy, your own unawareness.
      7. By becoming conscious of those actions and qualities that create envy, you can take the teeth out of it before it nibbles you to death.
      · Expect that when people envy you they will work against you insidiously. They will put obstacles in your path that you will not foresee, or that you cannot trace to their source. It is hard to defend yourself against this kind of attack. And by the time you realize that envy is at the root of a person's feelings about you, it is often too late: Your excuses, your false humility, your defensive actions, only exacerbate the problem.
      Three Dangers of Power
      1. The sudden improvement in fortune.
      2. An unexpected promotion.
      3. A victory or success that seems to come out of nowhere.
      · Power requires a wide and solid support base, which envy can silently destroy.
Reasons Not to Stir Up Envy
      1. Be careful not to affect a false modesty that people can easily see through.
      2. Your humility, and your openness to those you have left behind, has to seem genuine
      3. Any hint of insincerity will only make your new status more oppressive.
      4. Do not alienate your former peers.
      5. Emphasize how lucky you have been.
      6. Make your happiness seem more attainable to other people, and the need for envy less acute.
      7. Display a weakness, a minor social indiscretion, a harmless vice.
      8. Give those who envy you something to feed on, distracting them from your more important sins.
      9. You may have to play games with appearances, but in the end you will have what counts: true power.
      10. Do not try to help or do favors for those who envy you; they will think you are condescending to them.
      11. Consider showing your wealth only on the inside of your house.
      12. Apply this wisdom to your own character.
      WARNINGS
      · Beware of some of envy's disguises.
      · Excessive praise is an almost sure sign that the person praising you envies you.
      · They are either setting you up for a fall.
      · It will be impossible for you to live up to their praise.
      · They are sharpening their blades behind your back.
      · Those who are hypercritical of you, or who slander you publicly, probably envy you as well.
      · Recognize their behavior as disguised envy and you keep out of the trap of mutual mud-slinging, or of taking their criticisms to heart.
      · Win your revenge by ignoring their measly presence.
      · Once envy reveals itself for what it is, the only solution is often to flee the presence of the enviers, leave your enviers to stew in a hell of their own creation.
Finally, be aware that some environments are more conducive to envy than others. The effects of envy are more serious among colleagues and peers, where there is a veneer of equality. Envy is also destructive in democratic environments where overt displays of power are looked down upon. Be extra sensitive in such environments. It is almost impossible to avoid envy in such cases, and there is little you can do but accept it graciously and take none of it personally.
As Thoreau once said, "Envy is the tax which all distinction must pay."
