Fun fact about the number of hotbar slots:
The amount of slots depended on the size of the dpad and the screen's resolution. Before you had the option to scale the dpad, each device tended to have a different amount of hotbar slots. From what I can tell, they never updated the amount of slots available until update 12 (2015), which increased the slots from a maximum of 7 to always being 9.
