I have a block of flats called Dean Park on my layout, so I'm calling dibs on that! I decided to use favourite TH-cam channel names for my buildings and businesses rather than the ones that came with them or things like I.P Freely, plumbers merchants, etc. Nice to bump into you at Falkirk too. Cheers
Another entertaining video, Dave. Depending on whether the council scheme is going to be a good area or rough one, here's a few choices: Buckiehill Westerknowes Nairn's Park
Good overall update here Dave, some great things happening to the layout, hope you had a good time at the show you attended, very nice seeing the cavalex 56 again, really a model that should have won model of the year, I have thought about fitting drivers to both of mine but not done it yet, overall great update here Dave, keep up the great work.
Hi Dave , really enjoyed your video and also the exhibition layouts which were of a very high standard. Cheers Greg........Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Great video Dave. Really enjoyed the RES class 47 an rolling stock. Adds a bit of colour. I Think for the Council flats scheme you should call it Mill Court. Thinking because you have the mill factory there and most flats estates are traditional called 'Fill the name - Court' Already looking forward to the next video.😊
Hi Dave another fabulous video letting us know of new additions. Although I’ve not watched all your videos have you done one on your fiddle yard that is if you have one. Many thanks.
On the older Mark 3 coaches, it looks like you could upgrade the bogies further with some paint, such as painting the springs yellow and picking out some of the molded detail in white and orange?
Those council flats are superb, I almost feel jobless looking at them. Look forward to seeing them come along and all the potential details..... Do Bachmann make any single Mum figures with pushchairs?
I've purchased a rake of the new executive livery mk3's, not happy with the colour of the privacy glass on the toilet windows and buffet car windows, the grey is too dark, may try to dismantle the glazing to see if it can be altered with some card or plastic.
Sturgeon Court...? You could have a burnt out motorhome round the back! 😜 On a serious note, do you run any Cobalt digital point motors with your ECoS? Or anybody else on here reading this? I'm having a nightmare getting them to accept my accessory address changes - it seems totally random if / when they accept them. Cheers Rich
Haha. Thats hilarious! Sturgeon in court maybe? 🤭 I don’t use cobalt, it’s peco point motors I sue with my ecos. There is a Ecos users group on fb. If you’re on fb look for that group?
Great video as ever Dave. Firstly, you're quite right about your feelings, over the mis match colours on the Hornby LNER coaches versus the power cars. Quite frankly, Hornby's response had to be read to be believed, and is wrong, it's not acceptable. With regards to the council estate, got a few ideas for you. Dublin Bus has eight depots, three of them are at Ringsend, Summerhill, and Donnybrook. Other suburbs of Dublin include Jobstown, Swords, Finglas, and Blanchardstown. Or, if you want to keep it close to home, and I think I know the actual road these council flats are, what about Templeton?
This is a brilliant layout but the mini needs to be placed stopped on the other side of the level crossing because it looks silly where it is because it isn't moving. Fantastic work.
"Nelson Mandela Estate" or did that not make it up North. Or Wilmington / Bermuda the names of holiday cottages owned by a Blockade Runner into the Confederacy; after he retired home to Scotland.
It might be acceptable to Hornby tolerance but I would not like such a mismatch of colours. Yet again lack of quality control. The houses are looking great. My name suggestion is Park Close. The show looked to have some good layouts too.
Bachmann. However, more class 47 releases are due in 2025, and based on the amount of RES liveried rolling stock Bachmann have released this year I’d expect a RES class 47 to appear next year. They’ve pretty much hinted as much. So hold off and see!
@@DeanPark Thank you! That's super helpful!! I was wondering why they didn't release these liveries in their latest tooling. I have been patiently waiting... but not long enough it seems!
Why not name the estate after Sean Connery? Edinburgh born ( I think ). They look post his first appearance as James Bond too. Or each block could be named after a different author - (Walter) Scott House, (Arthur) Conan Doyle House, (Kenneth) Grahame House. Or just call them the 'Gresley Estate'.
This may not apply to Hornby, but I have heard of a well-known sneaker brand that has left shoes manufactured in one factory & the right in another. Possibly not even in the same country! This stops them from getting ripped off with genuine fakes.
Always enjoy your updates. May I suggest that you mute the background noise when you film at shows. Drowns out what sounds the models might be producing and annoying otherwise.
Hi, thanks. I actually turned the volume down for this, muting it completely may be strange, or I’d have to use annoying TH-cam library music. Plus, it’s good to be able to hear some of the trains if they are sound fitted.
Well hornbys 87 009 executive livery models red stripes were awful with darker cab doors and they couldnt even get that right in the same factoey......very sloppy QC although simon kohler offered to repaint them. I just got my money back instead.......ill pay but i expect the quality.
At the 87! Two colors on the one loco lol. It looks excellent in that livery. Silly error on the doors. What to the workers at the factory think? Do they care or say to their supervisor “hey this looks shit, should we not sort this?” If only!!
More quality issues from Hornby and their response shows a lack of care and attention. I just wonder how much longer they can survive as a business with their mounting debt and regular quality issues.
Sorry, mate. I don't like long updates, I get bored very quickly. While I like Mr. HST with his Mk. 3 slam door coaches, I hate all diesels with a vengeance. If I don't see any steam engines running, I'm miserable. The way to put a smile on my face is to run steam engines. I always sum it up thus: Show me a GWR Manor engine hard at work, and I'll show you how much I truly love her. I'm a lady steam engine fanatic. Merry Christmas from me and my model steam engines, including Thomas the Tank Engine. Who says we can't be kids?
It's got to be Craiglang, a homage to the wonderful Still Game. You could even make Navid's shop.
Osprey heights 😅
Bonny Brae
@@ChrisPipinghotI have Osprey heights on my Cartom West layout complete with really bright flat and Winston's leg in the carpark 😂
What about Parkdean for the new estate.
@corsatamgault717 Ha ha that's a belter 😆👌
Brilliant update as always! Would be fun if you called the estate "Everard Close" as a nice nod to your mate.
The apartments are looking fantastic. My name suggestion is Parkville Estate Apartments.
'Scot's Corner' for the council estate?! Another great video sir!
Thanks :-)
Scoonie Heights for the tenements. Great stuff as always Mr. Dean Park.
Scoonie heights. I’ve noted that one :-)
Another great half hour update watching the master at work!
Thanks Charlie.
Awesome video as usual Dave!!! Many thanks for sharing!🤛 Cheers Onno.
Another brilliant update on your outstanding layout it’s a masterpiece 👍
Souter Estate for the council flats. Named after Soapy Souter, it ties in with the Scottish theme
You should call the blocks of flats Dean House and Park House. Great update, man. Thanks.
I have a block of flats called Dean Park on my layout, so I'm calling dibs on that!

I’ve already got Dean park flats behind my station.
Good idea with your naming strategy. :-)
Love the flats, they remind me of the flats in Oxgangs. Great update- thanks
Shang A Lang Court is my nominated name
Another entertaining video, Dave. Depending on whether the council scheme is going to be a good area or rough one, here's a few choices:
Buckiehill
Westerknowes
Nairn's Park
Great video really enjoyed watching
Cheers. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. Dave

Great video Dave, glad to see you’ve been busy enjoying your new models. Can’t wait for your Christmas competitions. All the best Harry 😊👍
Great update Dave

A wonderful modelrailroad!
Absolutely brilliant layout thank you for your updates. Look forward to seeing. More.
Call your layout parkfield est or danfeld sst

The Flats look so good
On the older Mark 3 coaches, it looks like you could upgrade the bogies further with some paint, such as painting the springs yellow and picking out some of the molded detail in white and orange?
We never are ,but how about Dunspendin Buildings…have to say your layout is excellent, something to aspire to.
Haha. That’s clever.
Hi Dean Park, layout looking great. as to the counsel estate could be called Brick Hill estate - take care Kevin NZ
Backscenes look really good.
Great layout mate
Great video on layout
thanks for watching.
Hi Dave, how about the Kirkcaldy Heights Council Estate? Great update video too by the way, as always.
0:02 imagine this 30 years ago 😁 great video
Yeah, Happy days!
@@DeanPark do you remember that year as if it was yesterday 😥
Craig Lang would be a good name. Brilliant layout 👍
Maybe put in a U shape around a common or play ground
Those council flats are superb, I almost feel jobless looking at them. Look forward to seeing them come along and all the potential details..... Do Bachmann make any single Mum figures with pushchairs?
For the council estate, I would named it after the famous St. Andrews Golf Course. The St. Andrews Council Estate.
Dean Court Park for the council estate ;)
That's going on the list, thanks.
@@DeanPark You're welcome Dave, loving the layout.
Dean view

West Park. My old uni digs.
Another nail in Hornby's coffin very sadly.
Billy Connolly Court or just Connolly Court for the council estate.
This is a brilliant layout but the mini needs to be placed stopped on the other side of the level crossing because it looks silly where it is because it isn't moving. Fantastic work.
Hi thanks. I see what you mean. I’ll move it.
LuLu tenement buildings as a tribute to the wee lassie
"Nelson Mandela Estate" or did that not make it up North. Or Wilmington / Bermuda the names of holiday cottages owned by a Blockade Runner into the Confederacy; after he retired home to Scotland.
The real 125's had the coaches made in Derby and the power cars made in Crewe. Or was that the other way round?
That's right and they both used the same paint so it is possible to match the colour between two works
It might be acceptable to Hornby tolerance but I would not like such a mismatch of colours. Yet again lack of quality control. The houses are looking great. My name suggestion is Park Close. The show looked to have some good layouts too.
Waverley towers for the council estate
What brand of model was that 47 in RES? Been looking for one in digital and keep coming up short!

Parkmill for the estate - another allusion to Still Game.
Craig Lang?
