You gotta be pulling my leg! But in case I’m missing the joke - You do understand, that the people publishing this game, are former Activision programmers, right? Dan Kitchen, programmer of Casey’s Gold, programmed Atari 2600 Crossbow. His brother Gary, programmed Keystone Kapers. And David Crane was the founder of Activision, who programmed Pitfall!
Been trying to dig up stuff on this game. Recently worked on the Atari 2600 article for Keystone Capers and Crackpots. This game gets a special mention. :) Audacity Games and the VCS forever!
So happy this is almost here! I've been almost constantly asking for this for 4 years ... for that, I'm sorry but it looks to be incredibly designed all around! 🎉 and I'm buying day one.
This looks really good. Like an NES game meets Keystone Capers. Maybe better than anything Activision ever put out. I love to see the limits of systems pushed to a whole other level with these fan games. Memory was so limited and expensive back then. Now we have tons of possibilities. To see stuff like this coming out on the console I grew up with which was so primitive compared to what came after. But the games are still a blast. And decades later we are still getting games for it.
Releasing this 25th - can´t wait - one of the best games ever! First time I saw it I ws in love with its charm! I honestly thought it was gonna be canceled!
Incredible! amazing whats still being done with the 2600. i wish we had these graphics capabilities back in the 70's & 80's. great work and keep them coming!
In fact, we did have these graphic capabilities in the 70s and 80s. Casey's Gold, like our other games, Circus Convoy and Alien Abduction, uses NO HARDWARE ENHANCEMENTS whatsoever. The game runs on a plain vanilla Atari 2600, using no other processors or graphic chips.
Joe, the game is completely original, but it was developed by a team which includes myself (Garry Kitchen). As I was the creator of Keystone Kapers, it's natural that our newest game would have some similarities in style to my 1982 classic, but I can assure you that the game is entirely original.

@@audacitygames7731 Ahhhh, that explains it. Very nice looking game..... but then so was Keystone Kapers. Will a ROM be made available to purchase? If so, will it run on the Harmony Encore? Oh, and it's Steven BTW, not Joe. ;)
Mario's great, great grandfather has his own adventure in the California desert.
Amazing -- the amount of gameplay scenarios!
This looks fantastic, I just hope there are plenty of copies to go around!
The parallax scrolling of the cacti is cool and somehow adventurous on the 2600. Great!
Magnificent creation, despite similarities to Activision's Pitfall and Keystone Kapers and Atari's Crossbow. It'll be a HIT out of the park! 👍

@d.vaughn8990 I was not aware those people are behind this game. They must be up in years now.
@@RagShop1 okay…sorry . Didn’t mean to be insulting. Thought you may be kidding…
Your observation was on the money!
👍
@@d.vaughn8990 No offense taken. 👍
Looks fun, glad to see it works on 7800+ and 2600+😊
This is legit so freakin' cool, I'd love a cart

Btw... I'd love to see this game design in a horror type game involving subway trains. I can imagine it!
This looks great, Dan!
That is seriously impressive and looks a real hoot to play. Great work!!
Definitely worth the wait!

Amazing!
Awesome work guys! No DPC+ just plain old Atari 2600 coding kick ass?
While Casey was hoppin-'round with that black hat on, I half-expected seein' some type of shout-out to "Custer's Revenge"...!😲🤯😵💫😵😜😁
That looks fantastic!
Lindo jogo! Trabalho incrível!

Whoooool sensacional
Sweet!
Very cool!
very cool!
Feels like it borrows a lot of inspiration from Keystone Kapers, which isn't a bad thing.
Amazing!!!!
This looks insane!

....is this a Keystone Caper hack?
Original, new game.
@@joeg4707 Oh, okiez. Just really struck me as similar to Keystone Capers regarding character movement etc. Must just be a coincidence.

Impressive, but definitely not impossible. I won't doubt this is a real Atari 2600 game.
If it took 3 or 4 years for this game, then it sounds like having Howard Scott Warshaw develop E.T. in 6 weeks was a pretty bad idea.
Would you like money from Trump voters?
