In Depth Water Flows and the Yellowstone River

We love the Yellowstone River around these parts. The Yellowstone River flows north and east through the state of Montana and joins the Missouri River near the eastern boundary line of the state. The Missouri River eventually joins the Mississippi River, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the Gulf of Mexico. Would you like to know a little more about it? Dr. Dean Koch is a quantitative ecologist and data scientist who works with The Yellowstone Ecology Research Center to develop computer simulations to forecast the cycle of water through the Upper Yellowstone River watershed. Here he discusses the Yellowstone watershed, models used to analyze water flow and touches on the recent historic flooding of the Yellowstone River.
