Thanks man! Those are some cool eels you got. I am really surprised that there aren't more videos about aquarium eels since they are so majestic, hardy and beautiful.
Just found this channel , it's amazing ❤. I love people who care about the hobby and their animals and aren't afraid to splash good money on building the best environment for their fish. Keep up the awesome work , I will be here watching 🫶
Thanks a lot! The Giant Moray certainly ended up becoming a very costly pet but then, who can claim they have the 2nd largest Moray eel in the world so I am happy to have him.
Really nice tank! I am going to buy discus in a month to my trigon 190 with canister filter I Am buying them at 7;5 cm so like 3-4 inch I think ! Really happy and they are going to live in an juwel 350 when they get adults 😅
Nice! Try to feed them beef heart and they will grow really fast. I only buy small ones because they grow so fast so no need to pay $ for the bigger ones
The dry food that has worked for me well is Hikari Vibra Bites. It's a little pricey but the additive called Carophyll they put in there makes the color of the fish pop very nicely, especially if you have any red discus.
Hello i have a tessalata eel and how often should i feed it? I feed it shrimp, squid and tilapia i sometimes try to feed it every 2 days but he doesnt eat only after like 4 or 5 days and hes 2 and a half feet so i wonder if hes getting enough food and is it normal for him to always try to escape with his head out of the water?
If he only wants to eat every 4-5 days then that's actually good because you will need to do fewer water changes. If you want him to eat more then you can try to raise the temperature to increase his metabolism which will make him hungrier. Unless he isn't eating much because he is stressed out which could also be the reason why he is trying to come out. Check if everything is ok with the water, that he has no aggressive tank mates and that the tank is big enough for him
@@fishdiarythank you so much! You are right I am currently housing him in a 45 gallon tank which is too small and I will be moving him in a 190 gallon tank next week so I hope everything goes smoothly I am also gonna be looking to get a green moray next week ofc I am not gonna keep both of em long in the 190g i do know they grow slowly so i am gonna be planning for atleast a 350 gallon tank thanks again for your info!
U must have a really tight fitting lid to keep those morays in the tank and I suppose that really helps with stopping the salt . Do you have to top it up regularly ? Sorry for the questions but I’m looking to run a big tank with old skool undergravel filter driven by a huge air pump .
I don't have any problems with my Morays trying to escape. When I hear stories about eels trying to get out of their tank it is usually because the tank is way too small or there is an aggressive tank mate with them or the water quality is really low or they have no place to hide especially when the lights are also turned on too bright. I use simple acrylic covers and the lights rest on them. Salt creep is minimal because I have a long wavemaker on one side of the tank pushing the water and the air bubbles from the air stones towards the overflow box.
I absolutely love this channel I love eels they are so cool and I have my own eels a snowflake and barred moray also known as the banded eel

Do you have any problems with salt creep from using air pumps on your aquarium ?
Very little 😊

What happened to your giant moray eel?
I still have him. He is the eel on the left in the thumbnail.
@@fishdiary My mistake. He looks great. I love the eels, I just got a baby tessalata that I will be raising up. Your tank is amazing, have a good one
Thanks! You as well!
How can you tell what sex the fish is please ? My son would like to know he's studying thanks 😊
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to distinguish males from females. I heard some eels can even change genders like Clownfish do.
