S&W Shield Plus Performance Center w/ 4" barrel. Before I encountered it, I only would carry SA/DA hammer fired. Now, I almost always carry my Shield Plus, the trigger is phenomenal, it sits in my hand perfectly, and it conceals very easily. I have carried concealed for work and off duty now for 32 years (recently retired) around the country and in foreign countries, so you learn a great deal about what works and what doesn't by trial and error. I have carried a Hellcat (not pro) the better part of 2 years now off duty and have been pretty satisfied, but I'm always on the prowl for the next thing. Choices in this area are really pretty subjective. What works for one may not for another. We live in fantastic times with so many great options. Back in the late 80's and early 90's it was pretty much snub noses. Appreciate your channel's info. I find it rather interesting.

I also believe in practicing as you fight, and if I can use a non-ambi firearm without skipping a beat I can pick up just about any firearm and continue the fight.

8:24 Ruger's low recoil compared to a Walther PPK is because the Ruger has a locked breech. Blowback actions have added recoil apart from that gained from the momentum of the projectile. Think of them as a form of over-gassed, gas operated actions.

Got my wife the shield 1.0 years ago but she has trouble racking most handguns. About to get the ez 9 for her. I have .380s but only in guns small enough that they can't be chambered in 9mm. I figure since there's no significant size, weight or cost savings, why not go for the more effective cartridge. Although, I plan to have her shoot both and decide. If she can handle the .380 recoil even better, I'd rather her be accurate with something less effective than inaccurate with something more effective because missed shots don't help.

The Smith & Wesson Shield Plus has been my everywhere except bear country EDC since about 3 months after they came out. It comes with factory mags of 10, and 13 rounds, however, they recently came out with factory 15 round mags. This gun feels awesome to shoot with those 2 extra rounds because I’ve got big hands and it gives me even more grip while not printing much more at all than the 13 rounders! Plus, now I’m up to Glock 19 capacity in a waaay smaller package that is honestly just as accurate, and has a much better trigger!! For my smaller carry I have the p365. I have the XL frame so I can convert it to a 365x, but having the ability to start at the smallest size and increase is very convenient and versatile. The macro was interesting, tried it, thought the comp cuts were a gimmick, and increasing to this size defeats the purpose of the 365 (granted for bigger hands I can see the appeal). I noticed they have models now without the built in comp and I am sure the frames are on the way. Might be more interested again once we see more models and aftermarket parts (Wilson). I absolutely love my PDP Compact. I prefer thicker grips on my guns generally. The shape and texturing also feels perfect in the hands. The trigger is the nicest trigger I've used on a stock pistol. The large slide with very generous "serrations", if you can even called them that, make it really easy to get a grip on the slide. I honestly very rarely shot pistols and never carried before getting my PDP because I didn't like any pistol I've held or shot up to that point. Now it's my carry gun. I bring it every range trip and it's one of my favorite guns to shoot.

    • @DoctorMeatDoesHousecalls
      @DoctorMeatDoesHousecalls ปีที่แล้ว

@@thewatcher611 agreed. I guess I should say it’s “snappy” for what it is. It’s directly related to the weight and grip size for sure. My buddy just snagged a SIG P238 and the recoil feel is night and day between the two.

We the people holsters and claws suck. I had 2 holsters and 6 claws break in a 6 month time frame for just wearing the holster while doing general chores and activities. WTP did not replace any of the items when they broke. Their belts however are awesome and i recommend them to anyone, the Cobra buckle is great and the belts can handle alot of tension and stress. They can handle 18KN (kilonewtons) or 4046.56 Lbs of force on the belt and 9KN or about 2000 LBs of force for the buckle. They claim this on the buckle itself, its etched in with the patent info. I personal used mine one to to wrap around the frame of a car stuck in the snow and attached the tow rope to it and was able to help a car get out of the snow but idk how much force that put on the belt and buckle because the stuck car had AWD and just needed my help getting out of the area it was in. Great belts, bad holsters. Good cloths.

one comment about the Xmacro with the integrated "comp" that I didn't know before I bought it. if you shoot a serious course of fire, like a high round count class, the slide gets VERY hot. it doesn't take rapid fire blazing down, either. i'm not exactly sure of how many rounds/minute it would take to burn you, but I can definitely say it feels achievable in concentrated practice.

Tim - for a fairly long time, you seemed to really love your CZ P-01s (P-01 and P-01 Omega), especially after you had them "Cajunized" (Cajun Gun Works). Was there some inherent issue you discovered that made you re-evaluate using them as your EDC, or was it simply you found you preferred the P365's (Macro/XL) smaller form factor or some other quality? The P-01s are a joy to shoot; wondering what made you change your mind about carrying them. Thanks.

I know your comment was directed at Tim, but after three days perhaps I can share my P-01 experience. I love my P-01 Omega, but if you are considering one, be aware that their decocker design has an inherent flaw in design. Within about 500 rounds the small internal lever broke on mine and CZ has not had replacements available for years now. I am not aware of any alternative from Cajun, I have looked extensively on their site, but I haven't called them or anything. I ended up learning how to silver solder and fixed it myself (it was worth it for me since I don't like it as much with the safety installed). Otherwise, it is one of my favorites to shoot. After helping a friend test their p365 with about 400 rounds of ammo, I absolutely loved it, so I got one and that is my edc now. I have had no trouble with it thus far. Just my experience and ymmv, hope it helps!

I carry the P365 and also have the P365 X. Really love this 365 X and I carry everyday, mine doesn’t show any rust what so ever and I have around 1500 rds down range so far. I use Talon grips on all my guns, the rubber type.

I overlook the political stance and carry a Hellcat Pro. It is a fantastic firearm for me. Nothing against any on your list, all solid choices. I’m actually considering moving to an X Maco Tacops myself. Great video.

Glock boys with the Major W as always. It’s okay that some of y’all don’t prefer Glock but to try to knock glock and say they are trash is comical.

But the fact is glock doesn’t even make the best glock now

Point is Glock is a Toyota Corolla; Shadow Systems, CZ and other companies have surpassed Glock.

The most unreliable handgun (by far )in my group of friends, is a bone stock Glock. It makes me laugh so hard. I am not talking trash, i now it's fluke but it is hilarious watching him struggle to get a complete mag through "the most reliable gun made"

Glock definetly are NOT trash, once their patent expired, competitors copied Glock and advanced on their design. Shadow Systems is one such example.

10mm forever!!! I’ll still CCW 9mm and .380 though. Being narrow and light are my major requirements. I ankle carried for many years, but begrudgingly agree that I be ready to present it faster. I recently bought a 48X MOS and I love it.

I like the hellcat pro, but I hate the mini finger grooves. I hope they do away with them like Glock did.

Good guns on the list. HK VP9SK took the CCW spot for me and is commonly overlooked
