- We travel to the southern most tip of New Jersey to the quaint seaside resort of Cape May, which is famous for its Victorian architecture. Cape May lies on a peninsula and is perhaps America's best beach town. With an older, relaxed vibe, Cape May has innumerable bed and breakfasts, Victorian mansions, seaside hotels, shopping and dining. The Emlen Physick Estate, built in 1879, contains 18 rooms and is now a museum. The beach is renowned for its calm water and colorful lifeguard boats. A three-block pedestrian walkway on Washington Street features a shopping mall with several great restaurants. Across the peninsula on the western side, in a state park lies the Cape May lighthouse, which was built in 1859. You can climb the 199 steps to the top or watch the sunset from Cove Beach. We also travel north in Cape May County to the Cape May Zoo, which is open year round and has free admission. With over 550 animals, including lions, a cheetah, a leopard, giraffes, zebras, bison, monkeys, and a red panda, it is perhaps the best zoo in the state. Just north of the Cape May zoo lies the seaside town of Wildwood, NJ, which is renowned for its 1950s and 1960s vintage hotels, as well as a 3.2 km boardwalk with three different amusement piers. I ivite you along for the ride as we experience the south Jersey shore.
I always enjoy visiting the Cape May area. I liked seeing all the wonderful spots you showed in this video.
Have you been to the Cape May Zoo yet?
@@thisvantasticlife Yes, a few years ago. Really nice grounds and great views of the giraffes and zebras.
