  • I have been having range and Response problems with my Dumbo RC X6FG transmitter due to lower voltage of 4.8v (required is 5 to 6 volts).
    I am trying if I could improve it with increasing the voltage input to the transmitter.
    And it seems to be working well.
    Model used:
    Arrma Limitless 1/7 scale onroad RC car

    I have 3 dumboRC and I recommand you check your AA battery quality with a voltmeter. I am using supermarket rechargeable batteries and i works very good as the stock range is 500 meters.
    A 150 meter range sounds like a faulty device.
    Be also warned the dumboRC receiver may have runaways at full power and steering glitches when the transmitter is extreme low battery and blue led flashing, something I tough impossible on an electric car.... but that happened to me once and I am 100% sure there was no other RC transmitter around.

      My AA rechargeable batteries are new and fine. Fully charged.
      My lipos as well.
      I've observed these delays just a year after owning the DumboRC radio. I guess it's the transmitter itself that's deteriorating..
      I'm surprised that your DumboRC tx are still doing well.

      Yup I agree on low voltage battery. Even if wasn't flashing a little spike on low voltage tx will glitches.

      Ah I see ,now I know who's dealing with my runaways RC and bump onto the gutter broke my upper arms, It's dumbrc receiver ,🙆🤦 glitchy on the steering too🤦

    One point to consider, the controller will have a voltage regulator that takes the input voltage smooths it then delivers it to the circuit board , so no extra voltage should make it to the circuit board.!

      Thanks for the insight bro.
      But I don't know what makes the 7.4v battery better in this video. It has shown an improvement in transmission

      It is rated up to 3s according to their manual and from testing this works for me also. But my usual range for AA batteries is further than I can see

    There's an port for jst connector in the bottom off the receiver. Why you're doing that?can't understand. Just by jst to Deans convert connector then connect your 2s lipo.

    • @ianbudgetrc2574
      @ianbudgetrc2574  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is a jst under there but I prefer this shortcut. Thanjs

    My dumbo RC receiver causing runaways and glitchy steering, uncontrollable situations on a high speed ,boom onto the gutter🤦😭

      That's sad bro.. I experienced that as well, good thing I was able to steer it the last minute

    If I put rechargeable AA batteries can I charge them with USB port?
    Also why don't you take the double A's out and put the light pole battery in that spot so you don't have in the way or dangling around

      @ianbudgetrc2574  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm i don't think the usb would charge the rechargeable AA batteries.
      The lipo battery pack outside is just temporary. I srill prefer using AA batteries.

    Watching this video I noticed you Were a lot further away on video 1 ,on video 2 you only got to the square building on the right, this was not an accurate test.
    But testing my friends car we got double the distance just in AA rechargeable batteries.!

      Good observation brother. Thanks for your comments. Their difference was around 10 to 12 meters I think.
      But as the car was pulling away, I was already noticing the delay in transmission halfway, with the 4.8v rechargeable batteries.
      I understand, this test has flaws 👍

    smh... wish adding power would increase its range.. i can say is that it will last longer but still tx the same power.

    • @ianbudgetrc2574
      @ianbudgetrc2574  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it doesn't.
      But the delays are improved tho.

    • @lcpeterbilt379
      @lcpeterbilt379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ianbudgetrc2574 it wont affect anything. the tx will limit the power it allows in. i run my radiolink on 4s sometimes 3 or 2s it makes no difference.
