I use as little water as possible. And I make sure to paint small areas, let them dry, and then move on to the next area. Basically the chipboard will warp if you're trying to put too much water on it all at once.
+jeffmiracola so this is the inside cover of the sketch book? do you use watercolor on the interior pages ever? Also do you use a fixative on the final illustration?
It's an art book/sketchbook. Which means all the interior pages have my art printed on them. And no, I do not use fixative on the final illustration. No need.

+HolgerWhiteTrash C The drawing/painting is done on the inside cover of my Monstrosity sketchbook. The paper stock is called chipboard. Like thin cardboard. It's not the most ideal surface for creating art, but it works for simple stuff like I've done in the video.

+iRAWT Designs Thank you iRAWT. It is a lot of work, but we enjoy it very much. The white colored pencils can only do so much. I use them to get highlights up to a point, but then use white paint for the very intense highlights.

+Zombielijah Yelloh I think a yellow colored pencil would have worked out great. But these mixed media pieces are something I do quickly (in one hour) in my sketchbook. I'm not trying to spend too much time on them and get super detailed. Think of these as colored sketches. If I start using a lot more colored pencils, then it takes me more time, which isn't what I want to do with these pieces.
