Merlin is awsome but I the show he is so underpowered In the legend he was so powerful he could build cities wih his mind and change day into night Use his will to bring others back from the dead Could transform into a dragon himself Killed entire armies with just a blink of his eyes merged with the fisher king to become even more powerful Became the mage king So in the end merlin was basically a god
+mikey kean I think his powers were not done growing at the end of the show tho! in the last scene he's still there, a millennial later, I think it shows that his powers grew! I wish we could have seen more of that too tbh.
the reason for that i think it is because 1) magic was a secret for everyone but gaius in camelot 2)he learns and just use his magic to help and not for himself like all the mayority of user of magic in the show, with this he also gained wisdom and he was strong enough to no get corroupted by this (it happens to every single user of magic in the show) 3)even if they don't show his true power in the first season he defeated nimueh discovering the power of life and death and in the second season he defeated cornelius sigan who was the most powerful before him with a few spells that kilgharrah teach him, he was one of those few sorcerers if not the only one who could learn so fast spells that take years of study. oh and also he defeated a lamia without saying any kind of spells.
