Apart from armadillos and juggernauts, everything else is a nightmare to fight against if you're unlucky enough to have them guard sometging you really need.
If you can donate to HotA team please do it, they really deserve any support for the stuff they are making. I wonder if they are planning even more further updates.
Really hyped over this faction. But damn, it seems so hard to play. I have played 5 JO games with it so far, I have not managed to break before 211 a single time, whereas on other factions I typically break mid third week. My observations so far: * The entire faction is quite squishy. It is hard not to bleed units. Any slightly harder fight, and I'm left with only armadillos. * It takes a goddamn PhD to not hurt your own units with Engineers. * It's not quite clear what to use for 1-stacks. Using haflings feels bad, as they are the damage dealers. Using armadillos feels bad, taking retaliation with tier 3 omg. Using Engineers is sort of ok, but see previous point. * The town is intense on wood and ore. I suspect it may be worth it to take two dwellings of each as a high priority. Looking forwards to learning how this works better

Thank you for showcasing Factory! Looks great! I think you're probably right, once their mechanics are mastered, they might be OP. Either need nerfing, or other Towns, like Castle, which have too few specialties, will need buffing.
Was thinking the same thing. It's very cheap to build and I mean the basic rule of economy is that money right now is more valuable than money in the future. And since it has no interest you basically should always get that loan since it will help you get your army faster, or for example if you use the money to upgrade town hall it's just a net positive right away. I don't play any duels, so I can't say how good it will be there, since you do have to spend a turn building the bank. But in regular maps which I usually play it seems like you should use the bank whenever possible
It's not that simple. You have to be pretty careful early on when you are still getting your buildings. You actually have to really plan ahead if you want to use it. Spending a day to build it might mean you won't have the time to get something else within that week. I certainly can help you get something earlier that you could not otherwise but you have plan around it quite a bit. Much safer to use late game but at that point it doesn't help that much. It can get you a bit of extra troops when you are buying in large bulk but even then you only use it on that turn specifically otherwise it is pretty pointless.
Olgoi Khorkhoi can be used effectively to increase it into a very great powerstack against beefy monsters for clearing the area by using 1 stack baits as allies to fed the Olgois and the last retal baiting unit will take the retal and then the Olgoi-Khorkhois (same applies to regular Sandworms) will multi-bite it's opponent to death, even a 3 times more powerful one with just one attack. An Olgoi-Khorkhoi with all the requirements to accomplish this they can strike up to 7 times just by the help of our own little guys sacrifice themselves in the fight. The maximum amount an Olgoi-Khorkhoi can strike can reach up to 13 strikes if we calculate small enemies as well surrounding 1 powerful enemy has to be striked 13 times to death.
I love new factory! It really gives me heroes 5 vibes, where most of the units had really unique abilities. I still wish they stayed with the original science fiction concept, i understand why they changed that, but i think now it might be too similiar to tower

Can't wait to see you play through the campaign, tried on impossible, first map was more difficult than expected but second map end boss seems way over difficult, even getting to him was tough.
2nd mission you can just afk some months (the enemy will break free 1-2 days after the 7th month) and by that time you will have enough army to crush him. Did all seer huts, nothing was missing. 3rd mission is where the fun starts :)

16-th century pirates with guns, cannons and now with this expansion we have robots, lasers, flamethrowers. Too much for me but I got so used to the important gameplay improvements in HOTA like hotkeys, autobattle, simultaneous turns, I just cant go back to play Heroes 3 Complete without those.
Most of those are from the HD mod which can be put on Shadow of Death. only a few features from HotA isn't included in the HD mod, (like showing amounts of units before attacking). So you can for sure play with these features on the original game. HotA does however bring some balancing to the original, Nerfing conflux, Necromancy, diplomacy and buffing tower. I used to play so much original shadow of death but it gets kinda boring that the enemy AI that gets conflux just steamrolls all the other AIs
Ranged pre-emptive strike is nice but it should work like normal retaliation so only once per turn. Right now its stupid to have infinite pre-emptive strike.
Totally agree. Also, having preemptive strike should exist first for melee, as there it makes much more sense. On ranged, only cowboys should be allowed to have that. And having unlimited retaliations AND preemtive strike really feels like too much. Even though I don't like griffons, I'm starting to feel for them now, they suddenly feel so useless and not unique. Realistically speaking, they should limit it to 2 retaliations like the normal griffons. And leave the royal griffons the only ones with unlimited retaliations.
I also seen a problem when the airship can block your town or sth since it 'lands' at the end of the move. I guess it can be a strategical move since it is quite expensive (5k gold and 20 wood i think) so its a gamble in a sense but yea if enemy ends their move at your gate and doesn't disembark it feels kinda unfair? I'm not sure what to think of it. In my understanding it is to prevent ending move on unreachablw terrain like mountains but imo it would be better if you could only end your move on normal terrain (but thata probably too complicated to predict/implement? ) and then spend a extra turn actually landing and disembarking. Like a normal ship - if you end your move on land you dont just sit there and then go swimming again.
This is a really cool faction, lots of innovation with the abilities but still not over tuned and clearly OP compared to any other faction even with 2 T7s.

Interesting town. However, I feel Factory is too special in a way. Almost every unit has some kind of unique (often OP) ability. The designers really wanted to make every unit useful. That's not always the case in the original 9 towns. It doesn't fit well rest of the game. Maybe I have to get used to it. Anyway, thanks for the video and start making new tier lists! :D
I disagree... most units have some sort of special ability in the game, some much more op than these... like archangels and vampire lords. Regarding not fitting in with the original factions, I used to think the same but changed my stance because I looked at the epitome of high fantasy: LOTR. It's got halflings, elves, dwarves, men, orcs, ents, dragons, giant eagles, trolls, etc, along with wights, ghosts, pirates, wereworms, and a dark wizard who invented gunpowder explosives and who turned a forest into an assembly line. Also, Factory isn't even the first factory in the game... the Tower magi created golems, and alchemists are constantly brewing mercury. All in all, love the new faction! I think it's so cool 😊
Even if the town is balanced from a player standpoint: I wonder how much of a menace Factory AI will be on 1v7. Will it be worse than rolling orange confy on SoD?
What if you cast expert forgetfullness on bounty hunters? Would they still use their preemptive shot? I am thinking yes since it is a special ability but would see the logic in not using it as well
i played them a bit vs computer, i really like the T1 dont need upgrade for range attack (HELLO TOWER UNITS!!) :D also the T6 new ret ability is kinda cool as im scared to fight most range enemies... tho got to say i would love if the Dragon/Phoenix had more LIGHT or something so u can see better when u put on invulnerable, but maybe its just me
does the automaton explosion also damage your units if it dies close to them? I assume so. so you want them to stay away from your other units... Oh... you can activate or deactivate self destruct, thats good.

Yes, but they have a lower weekly population and are 50% more expensive. Factory is a pretty expensive town even without factoring in the double tier 7s.
@@LexiavI still feel like only move to really utilize the Heat attack (robot's only upside) is Teleport + Heat attack into multiple enemies. And opponent can anticipate it and spread units like against Meteor shower. And to position golem without Teleport spell to hit more units is almost impossible, since its slow speed (7), most units would move away from golem before he can try Heat attack. Maybe I am wrong. Its just first tought that came to my mind. Anyway. I like the robot idea, so hope it will be used.

Even if the town is balanced from a player standpoint: I wonder how much of a menace Factory AI will be on 1v7. Will it be worse than rolling orange confy on SoD?
What if you cast expert forgetfullness on bounty hunters? Would they still use their preemptive shot? I am thinking yes since it is a special ability but would see the logic in not using it as well

i played them a bit vs computer, i really like the T1 dont need upgrade for range attack (HELLO TOWER UNITS!!) :D
also the T6 new ret ability is kinda cool as im scared to fight most range enemies...
tho got to say i would love if the Dragon/Phoenix had more LIGHT or something so u can see better when u put on invulnerable, but maybe its just me
does the automaton explosion also damage your units if it dies close to them? I assume so. so you want them to stay away from your other units... Oh... you can activate or deactivate self destruct, thats good.

Yes, but they have a lower weekly population and are 50% more expensive. Factory is a pretty expensive town even without factoring in the double tier 7s.
I feel like Juggernauts are too clunky to use. I think they should be able to Heat attack after moving.
now That would be strong :D clunkyness is the downside to this absolute beast
@@LexiavI still feel like only move to really utilize the Heat attack (robot's only upside) is Teleport + Heat attack into multiple enemies. And opponent can anticipate it and spread units like against Meteor shower. And to position golem without Teleport spell to hit more units is almost impossible, since its slow speed (7), most units would move away from golem before he can try Heat attack.
Maybe I am wrong. Its just first tought that came to my mind. Anyway. I like the robot idea, so hope it will be used.

THEY DO. 🙂 I still think the upgraded version should be swapped or reversed with the non. That is, Crimson should be first level, and the "rainbow, ethereal" version should be the upgrade.

Im new to heroes 3 mods, shud i juss start w horn of abyss, plus is legacy of silence a thing yet or is it not high quality lik hota? I love idea of new factions but only if they r high quality such as cove n factory
