Hey JC, I just came across your channel because you cover a lot of players I've always wondered about. I saw the episode you did about yourself and you mentioned being from The Bahamas. The first player that came to my mind when you said The Bahamas was a guy who would make for a great feature: Dexter Cambridge from the University of Texas. I've followed basketball since I was 6 and Texas was my team back then. I'm not sure if Cambridge played HS ball in The Bahamas, but he ended up at a JUCO in Texas. He was a bigtime JUCO recruit, back when stars like Larry Johnson/JR Rider were playing there. Cambridge played 2 great years at Texas but I think he was suspended during his senior year for accepting $. He played briefly for the Mavs back when they were awful. Would love to see him featured. A few other names that popped up (not 100% certain these haven't been covered): Felipe Lopez (#1 recruit), Ben Wilson (Chicago HS player), Greg Newton (one of the first elite Canadian recruits), Billy McCaffrey (won a natty at Duke then transferred to Vanderbilt. Put up huge numbers but never made the league), Lawrence Funderburke, Greg Guy, Eric Manuel (expelled from NCAA, won 2 natties in NAIA), Todd Bozeman (former Cal/Morgan State coach), and Harvey Thomas (former G-town/Baylor player who got caught up in the murder scandal).
Oh, one more. Probably the biggest one. Luke Axtell. Was a superstar at Texas as a freshman. Coach got fired and he transferred to Kansas. Lost a FULL YEAR of eligibility (plus one year sitting) since he transferred in conference. Played JR and SR years at Kansas but was a big disappointment. Dude was destined for the NBA and his career went downhill faster than anyone I remember watching.

None of the King players lived up to their hype going all the way back to Teddy Grubbs. Sonny Cox was a recruiter and showman, not a coach. None of them were developed properly.

Man I will be praying for this young man to become successful off the basketball court. As adults we have to allow children to be children and monitoring their overall well-being. As a former high school student athlete, their can be a lot of pressure to succeed, however as parents you have to put your children first without allowing some of these coaches or other adults live off your children's success.
