Obviously I have different taste so not gonna comment directly on where things should be ranked just gonna throw out a few where I think something is either missing or ranked much lower than I would have it. I guess it is understandable seeing as how the opening is not an Opening Get it? Lol. Seriously speaking tho. The beggining of the song fits the theme perfectly. Its so calming.
@@fe723 eventhough it's just a random scene with background music, it's still consider as opening because it's done almost every episode. And that way of opening is much much much better than typical anime opening which sometimes have spoilers in the music video.

@@svenes2326 Well, generally popular anime have the highest preference of viewers, as well as their opening, which tend or may have a better animation and a good song. This includes series that are not as popular but that influence our preferences as well. So, some openings are basically based on what the song is. I'm not going to deny it, this happens to me. Probably my list does not match your tastes, like the opening of Megami-ryō no Ryōbo-kun, as it is not popular in itself, it does not appear very high in the lists of others, like ecchi doesn't make a song bad itself. And as for Re: Zero, the second part of the second season came out in the winter season 2021. So, overall, not worry I'm not offended, with a list like this it is very likely that it will not have the taste of the majority, from what I said before. If I sound egotistical to you, please don't get me wrong, I'm not :)
This is my top 10: 1. Fena Pirate Princess (The blend of beauty and upbeat catchy chorus make this infinite repeatable) 2. 86 Season 2 (Catchy as hell and very well done visually) 3. Slime Season 2 (Wasn't in the list but in my opinion this is the best song True has ever done and I can't stop listening to it) 4. Vivy (Very beautiful song as well) 5. So I'm A Spider So What? OP 2 (Definitely the better Suzuki Konomi song imo that chorus gets my blood pumping) 6. Mashiro no Oto (This song is really good but it really slaps instrumentally as well which is very appropriate) 7. Re Zero Season 2 Part 2 (Wonderful song with wonderful lyrics for a wonderful show) 8. Jujutsu Kaisen OP 2 (Best visual OP for sure but I don't like the song as much as the 7 above it) 9. Itaden Deities (This OP is just so cool visually and matches so well with the song that grows on you as you listen to it more) 10. King's Raid OP 2 (Also not in the list but for a show this bad this OP slaps really really hard) HM: Promised Neverland Season 2 (Had in my top 10 originally but the song didn't age as well with me and the visuals are just alright) Boruto OP 9 (Probably my favorite Boruto OP so far both in terms of visual meaning and song but didn't quite make the cut) Build Divide (I didn't know EGOIST has such fire beats. Not usually my kind of song but they made this very appealing to me.) Beastars Season 2 (A really good song and really good visuals just didn't quite make it.)
So many bangers from Winter 2021 getting shafted. But I guess it's only natural when the OPs come out this early in a year. Most people just don't remember them as vividly anymore as when they dropped.
Wondering where Twisted Hearts from Yuukoku no Moriarty S2 is... It was really a good song, good opening for a rushed S2 the story deserved. The Op is one of the few good thing this season 2 has, it deserves to be at least in the top 50.

Merry Go Round - MAN WITH A MISSION (Boku no Hero Academia S5 OP2) note: there might good anime OP's right there but I just watched few this year so if ever a good OP is not in this list the chance is that I haven't watched it yet XD
For me my favourite op of 2021would be "Bang" from "Build divide"❤️ it's crazy how it made me a fan of EGOIST 😅 😁 n then comes "takt op destiny" then "the world's finest assassin"❤️❤️
I believe they have played songs for animes before this one. Check tu gi oh v endings, and I also believe they have done it for fruit basket and another anime before log horizon
this top 50 is disgrace to think that not only Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu OP didn't appear in top5 it didn't even appear at all in whole vid LOL it;s like "YT after dislike disappearance"

This is a good list. Not what I would have chosen, but still very solid. Some other good ops from this season include: Lupin III Part 6 The Aquatope on the White Sand (OP 2) Odd Taxi The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Horimiya SK8 the Infinity Wonder Egg Priority Fruits Basket: The Final Zombieland Saga Revenge Kageki Shoujo Peach Boy Riverside Blue Period This was just a really good year for anime openings.
Vivy in the last video was rank 25 and now is 29, i..... I just can't, also i surprise to see Kimetsu no Yaiba OP so high, i didn't feel it was that good compared to others
He put platinum end op at 39, the assassin isekai at 40, aot at 35 and jobless reincarnation at 10 which is legit just music and tokyo revengers is no where to be found do you really expect him to have a refined taste
@@christopher4227 i gotta disagree with the jobless reincarnation take, its more content than any individual op since they have to animate something different everytime the op plays. I think it also works to the strengths of the series which are world building and atmosphere
Honestly I just wanted to see how high the beastars op was going to be ranked. Honestly it would be in my top 5 but seeing it at 12 doesn't feel like it's being overlooked
re:zero part 2 opening being No. 6 is so ironic when the opening was used for like 5 eps. also i love vivid vice because they showed my boy yuuta when he is just mentioned, thank you mappa.

Very nice list. Always good to see these vids go look back at some of the best openings of the year. Have to agree on number 1 especially. I was blown away by both its visuals and music when i first saw it.

2021 seemed lacking in banger openings, I can’t really remember but looking at this least it seems that way. I was hoping Ousama Ranking would take the top spot! I’m not a big fan of the Magen train op and ed
I thought I was the only one. I don't know if it's the quality of anime or if I just watched too many, but I felt mostly numb to most of the OPs here. Most of em sounded more or less the same or "cookie cutter" like Kpop music.
Yeah i swear I thought some of them sounded the exact same. It’s a shame boring j-pop/rock songs like those were chosen instead of interesting more diverse choices like Ousama Ranking and especially OddTaxi
Nice to see World Trigger up there but I personally like season 2's op better. Yes it is very spoiler heavy but it's summarizing the invasion arc and really puts you back into the mood for wt. Also the beginning going thought all the squads is just so cool... altho season 3 op's montage of group shots/squad shots at the end is also very nice hehe...
Neither OddTaxi nor Ranking of Kings was on here… immensely sad. I can understand most of your choices but Vivid Vice as number one is overrated as an OP just saying

I really like Kageki Shoujo's OP, but it's the endings that are absolutely GOATed. you do not skip the ending when watching Kageki Shoujo, ever.

He put platinum end op at 39, the assassin isekai at 40, aot at 35 and jobless reincarnation at 10 which is legit just music and tokyo revengers is no where to be found do you really expect him to have a refined taste
@@christopher4227 i gotta disagree with the jobless reincarnation take, its more content than any individual op since they have to animate something different everytime the op plays. I think it also works to the strengths of the series which are world building and atmosphere

I don't know if it's the quality of anime or if I just watched too many, but I felt mostly numb to most of the OPs here.
Most of em sounded more or less the same or "cookie cutter" like Kpop music.
Yeah i swear I thought some of them sounded the exact same. It’s a shame boring j-pop/rock songs like those were chosen instead of interesting more diverse choices like Ousama Ranking and especially OddTaxi

Nice to see World Trigger up there but I personally like season 2's op better. Yes it is very spoiler heavy but it's summarizing the invasion arc and really puts you back into the mood for wt. Also the beginning going thought all the squads is just so cool... altho season 3 op's montage of group shots/squad shots at the end is also very nice hehe...

Was tsukimichi this year? If so then im curious as to what you didnt like about the opening especially music wise. Also why op2 of 86 when op1 was imho much better music and cinematography wise
