Nice video, I can't understand why PD have made tyre temps such an important aspect of some races without any way to see what they are in game though. We shouldn't have to use a companion app to see them if they matter this much, and VR drivers like me can't even use that!
Really glad I watched the whole thing to understand the simple trick that actually helps to save your tyres! Love that your video titles aren't just click bait! 😉❤
Incredibly informative video as ever! How you find the time to make these helpful videos for the community whilst having a full time job and being an expectant father is beyond me. 🙏 Glad I watched the whole video as I knew the 90C was cooking the tyres, but had no way of knowing what to do about it. Thanks as always for a great video!
I admire how quickly you can put out informative videos like this, with all the editing and tyre wear info etc that needs to go in. I can only assume you've got a bunch of elves working for you, or something!
My tires were OK Monday but Tuesday they were completely gone end of 5 laps. What the heck! This is helpful, ty Tidge, but just more proof PD wants carnage and contact, turn the tire wear down and.... problem solved! Nothing with race settings, length, bop, or penalty system has been fixed proper in 3 years 🤪😤😡 and we still lucky if we get one decent race each week, pathetic. We should have 5 daily races options each week. The community needs to take PD to task and make a stand. Give customers what they want 👊!
Lack of confidence to really push these cars is a blessing in disguise this week saving tyres. I see now why I was not suffering too bad with wear issues
So.... take care of your tires? The people that understand the simple phrase 'take care of your tires' already knew to do this. The people that don't understand that phrase are going to need a little bit more than "coast 130R and use lighter throttle"
@@MrTehNomsyep this video is horseshit with a bait title. One of the ones that makes you select "Do not recommend channel". 17 minutes of absolute nothing
It works! (Not that I was ever in doubt!) I got 9 laps out of GTR and 7 laps easily out of NSX using Race Dash on my iPad. I reckon someone with more talent than I (it's a low bar!) could almost certainly get 9 laps out of the NSX if they really wanted to, but there are so many (ahem) 'challenging' drivers in the lower lobbies that I'm happy I can now use the tyre temps, my pace, and what is happening in the moment race wise to get better results in each race. Awesome tutorial, Tidge. 🤓🙌
You mentioned the oil change part of the game the other day. I think it isn't mileage based. I think a way to test it is the large trial oval and drive something like the 787B that has an oil temp gauge on it, drive laps running it at 10,000 rpm and getting the oil temp pegged as high as it will go; then run the same car and keep the rpm lower. It makes me curious if you are drafting if the water and oil temps go up. I recall back when they first implemented oil changes in an earlier iteration of the game; you would lose power as the oil degraded. If it encourages people to change their irl car oil more often, a blessing for that car! At least the game gives you a free car wash with the oil change if you didn't notice you car getting shinier ;) Thanks for all the time, effort, and passion you put into the channel!
Thanks for this! I lost 5 positions in each race since my tires got cooked basically last lap I had no front tires. I was about to give up on this race, but will give it one more try :)
My mistake on this race was not to Pit with you. I lost so much time going for one more lap without the Slip. Still i enjoyed the time Racing against you! 🇨🇭
Personally I enjoy having to manage all of the aspects of real racing including tyre and fuel management. Really sportsmanlike rejoin from Jurevicius. Great informative video. Thanks 👍
So it’s exactly what real drivers do to save tyres like i thought, very little trail braking, avoiding dirty air and very little hard acceleration mid corner. Watching onboards from the wec channel should be a nice guide for everyone
@tidgney Really Rubbish Racing? FM3 & FM4? Anything you might remember? But I could be wrong. Maybe just you have same "aliases" as those guys.... /DBB
Nissan can't be that far of. I was only one second off from some of the almost top A+ drivers and I'm dangling between A/B. For me Nissan is far more easy to drive, not that awful oversteer on breaks
Nah, I'll only use it a few times. I know it's good, and highly recommend it to others who want that immersion. For me personally it's not what I'd use just due to how I create content etc.
Have not had a chance to race yet this week, but will try your secret. Do you know if the track temp is constant from race to race or different times of the day. Not always, so beware. Love your videos, thx again Tidge!
Great info as usual 👍🏼. Was it GT 3 or 4 that had a colour indicator for the tyres ??? If tyre temps are gunna be a thing surely PD could add that colour indication. BLUE was cold GREEN was normal operating temps and RED was overheating not necessarily worn. I’m also starting to think the penalty system is harsher the higher your ranking goes. I could be trippin but it does seem that way. The cars also seem ever so slightly faster as well depending on your ranking. Completely unrelated -hope lady Tidge is doing well. You too M G. It’s a life changer for you both. 👍🏼
I wouldn't say it's a 'trick'. You adjusted your driving style accordingly to the conditions. I haven't driven this week's yet, as i'm waiting for my new simrig, so my theory on it: I noticed before you showed your solution, that tyre wear was high on front, and way lower on the rear. So you should bring more stress onto the rears, and less onto fronts. That would happen, if you'll carry more rotation through the corner. Like you'd rotate more before you start the exit, then the arc of the exit would become bigger. You need to turn less on your wheel, car is straightened more at the exit start, so you can be early on the acceleration again. With your trick, you lose time on accelerating later. I liked dirving pointy cars, and my fronts would always be in way better condition to the rears, and everyone elses in the race. As is started to grind down fronts and rears more equally, i became faster. 😊❤🎉 I don't know if i explained my thoughts well. Drive more tokyo drift for more rear tyre use and less fronts 😂 I always enjoy your theory approach 👍
You can't make the car more pointy unfortunately which is why this method is needed for this race this week. At least I couldn't as I was already using +5 BB. Appreciate the comment
What kind of wheel are you using and what's your settings . I have a DD PRO and G4 ,G3 races my wheel is good but on la'mas my wheel shakes something serious at 200mph . Any ideas on fixing that problem SALUTE BRUH 💯 Keep dropping them tips 👀
That's not the issue with Gran Turismo, the only time tyre temps really have an issue is accelerating mid corner they just spike so avoiding that part will help so much.
Because....all the steering and braking move the weight forwards. Accelerating and bit of wheel slip is nothing compared to the load put on the front of a chassis decelerating and turning (and exit) - physics my friend.
I have never liked the attitude of drivers in weekly races, most of them don't think with their heads they usually go for gaps that only exists inside their tiny brains. They don't care If they ruined someone race, they just hit you get you off track and keep going for the next driver to push off track. They should suffer some mechanical problem and send to pit to fix their car as a penalty
Sooooo the trick is... tyre saving who knew ? 🤣🤪 only joking 😁 So either PD messed up with the new tyre physics or this was purposely made this way, in which case we need tyre temp in-game info on the screen, not a 3rd party app that's only any use on a separate screen and that's if you can monitor said tyre temps whilst going through the SS at Suzuka !

I'm on a GT Fanatec DD Pro default settings and 2/2 in game.
Thank you for this Tidge! I will try to implement these changes immediately!
Do you happen to know if wind speed/direction has any effect on tire wear? For example, a strong crosswind putting a lateral load on the tires.
I didn't test that unfortunately.
Tire temps are a symptom, not a cause. Drive smoothly, don’t break late and hard, roll through the corners. It’s not a trick, it’s just good driving
That's not the issue with Gran Turismo, the only time tyre temps really have an issue is accelerating mid corner they just spike so avoiding that part will help so much.
Why are MR cars now also burning front tyres instead of rear tyres?
Because....all the steering and braking move the weight forwards. Accelerating and bit of wheel slip is nothing compared to the load put on the front of a chassis decelerating and turning (and exit) - physics my friend.
Mainly Gr.2 and up cars but it's jsut due to the downforce of the cars
So pit earlier, lap 4 and don’t accelerate in the turns and you should be good. Noted
Save your Tyre with this ONE SIMPLE TRICK, Virtual Tyre Manufacturers hate this!
Hello, can u set the delta app tyre temp overlay on a playstation 5?thx Tidg
You can't do anything directly on the playstation unfortunately.
"Simple trick" reminds me of a few of my exes.
😂😂😂
I want to get really good at tyre wear, would it save tyres to lift and coast into turn 1? or is lifting into corners just for fuel saving?
Depends on the tyre(s) you're trying to save. So if you want to save the front left braking earlier and coasting into turn 1 can help.
Whats your brake bias for this one?
It was +5 BB
Oh thats what that means against the races, cheers!
How do you manage to display le tyres temperatures in the game ?
It's not in game, it's an app. There are several out there, with Race Dash for iOS being pretty popular (and what I use!).
I use a 3rd party app which I discuss in another video at the end of this one (Linked at the end)
How do you get the tire temp to show up?
