You and Sam had the time of your life in Switzerland, not because its an expensive country but it was all about the skiing, the amenities and the food that made it all worth it! When you didn’t have to pay full airfare to Zurich, that made the voyage to Zermatt double sweet - the best thing about your vlog was the shot of Matterhorn! Thanks for the ski resort review.
The strawberries from COOP come from Spain, and are really good! It's a bit funny that one of your reactions is that streets are very walkable, I think we are used to it we don't notice until we travel somewhere ouside Europe.
In the US/Canada, it is particularly rare to have suburban, rural, and resort areas that are walkable. Anywhere outside of a select number of big cities, North America is still primarily auto-oriented, especially ski areas. We tend to have quite bad traffic in these areas on big weekends as well, with an insane number of cars trying to go up the limited mountain roads to the resorts.
In Austria spanish fruits r actually not that popular and only poor people buy it as they r full of pesticides.... Austrians prefer regional produce n only if sth is not grown here they would buy stuff like from example Spain but only if it's organic... Which is also doubtful lol
@@neznamtija8081 I have lived in Austria for 7 years before coming to Switzerland. I know that Austrians prefer seasonal and regional products, I have met really radical Austrians that would only buy produce from Austrian farmers. Same here, but that doesn’t mean only poor people buy the produce from Spain, Spain is part of the EU and has to follow the same regulations that all the other EU countries.
Snow doesn’t open stuff up due to avalanche control and also you’re a bit out of season/towards the end of season so they’re probably winding down. If you’ve ever skiied in whistler after a big snow dump you’ll find the same thing - loads of lifts closed as they’re doing avy control ☺️
GIRL - I went on the exact same trip at the end of February! From Zurich, to Zermatt for skiing and all the sites! Back to Zurich, Lucerne, Geneva, and a few cities in France. But gosh, Switzerland is so stunning, truly like no other country!
There’s not a lot to do in Zurich but think its still worth exploring imo! You should check out Laterbrunnen, Grindenwald and Jungfrau in Switzerland. If you liked Zermatt, those places will blow your mind.
It is not the snow why the lifts are closed. The reason is wind or in some cases total lack of visibility higher up. As you are mostly above the treeline, hard wind is a major hazard and lifts are closed as a safety precaution
Always coming through with the vlogs when I get off work cheers! Also could’ve told you all the best Swiss spots, exclusive and all. What a great video, Shelby!
I love Switzerland. I went to Lucerne and took a boat, then gondolas to alps. It is beyond beautiful. It is ironic that we asked some Swiss guy to recommend a place to eat, and he said McDonald's. (wiseguy)
I also recommend the Industriequarier, some cool stuff there Biergartens, restaurants, etc. Sort of a mini-Berlin. Nearby, walking on the Lettenviadukt is great, like the NY Highline but less busy with beautiful views of Zurich. Le Corbusier House is another great attraction.
I can't Ski at ALL , but I've been to Switzerland and I have relatives there. I love it! Zermatt is beautiful, getting there is like half the fun too! Love it when you go Boujee, haters can just hate, I like Boujee! Hahaha!
Hot tip: when you buy the base fair with cash and then use points to upgrade to first it's a better points deal most of the time, and then your trip also counts for more miles. When you book with miles, you don't get miles for your trip.
I had McDonald's in Ireland and it was like gourmet! From what I understand, Ireland does not import any animal products. Only local. So, it was totally worth it.
Wow, the pizza looked incredible and what a beautiful vlog. My friend lives between NY and Switzerland and loves it there too. She said the food is very fresh. You guys are too cute!
Shelby, you and Sam had the time of your life in Switzerland, Italy, and London! I was so happy that you both enjoyed the Alps and the delicious pizza! Sam, was so wonderful to go and find for your ski pole! He's a keeper! Loved this video.❤️⛷️❤️🍕❤️
Could you do a video of how you plan out your main channel videos, from like the beginning to them going live? I am so interested because they are amazing and when I try to do stuff like it, I get overwhelmed. Would love to hear your tips :)
I am glad that you`ve loved beeing in Europe so much. Actually you were so close to us (Germany). We have some great Ski areas too. Italy, France and Austria neraby too. Hope you`ll be back one day to see all the other places and do not miss to visit Germany. :) Kind regards
I visited Geneva and Zurich during the summer time and the train rides in between were literally like post card images. I’m talking about green grass, lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and great architecture. It’s a bit pricey especially for Westerners or Americans who are used to having their money worth more in other countries (similar to visiting London/Great Britain), but I would still highly recommend Switzerland to anybody needing a travel destination. 🏞️
For at least the first day, consider getting a guide when you ski in Europe because it's hard to know what's open and where the conditions are good, and the mountains are huge.
How fun, I've travelled a lot but haven't made it to Switzerland yet. I'm travelling overseas next week for the first time since covid, but somewhere extremely hot (Thailand). So excited
we experienced the same thing in Canada this past winter, they had 103 trails only 50% were open, it was still lovely, but the hours were 9am - 3pm. We quickly found out why. Due to the high elevation the visability was TERRIBLE right after is snowed. It was very dangerous and scary at some points. It is also due to avalanche protocalls.
my hair is currently trapped into my kitchen sink garbage disposal. you see if dancing on my kitchen counters to the hit smash song BOP TO THE TOP and my. floor length rosacea red hair was dragging along my kitchen sink. I must've been flailing a little too aggressively as I flipped the switch that turns my disposal on, and next thing I new my hair was entangled! Don't worry tho, ill be able to retrieve most of rosacea red hair from the blades.
If burgers are too big/high, I have to eat them with a knife and fork because my mouth is too small to bite it all! I also eat pizza with a knife and fork which people sometimes laugh about haha
Great Vlog! The bad news the video is too short 😥When Sam said the food is healthier than the US food then must be really bad like junk food - not ? I thought the Seattle food is so healthier.I mean the bred and brezel are very good tasty in Europe incl. german bred hi hi.Waiting of the second part......
It’s spelled “bougie,” not boujee. Then again, it’s a made-up slang abbreviation for bourgeoisie. I suppose folks can spell a pretend word however they want.
The bread is better in Europe (and pretty much everywhere else from my experience) because American bread is full of sugar and preservatives, and god knows what else
Food in Europe generally has more taste/flavor to it, compared to the US cause we don’t use as many gmo, additives and so on in our food🫶 so you could say that almost everything is “organic” here🙌
Do Delta really call it First class even international? I know American companies call it that nationally but thought that internationally they called it business class like everyone else?
Shelby, Can you do a video on how you plan trips like these? ie figuring out where you want to go, hotels, activities, food etc. Help. Thanks!
I just love Sam’s vibe every time he’s in the videos. He seems like such a cool dude
He's cute and seems really smart but without an ego. I love that they're both a bit geeky too

You are such a great couple (no pressure!). When you said Sam told you to stay whilst he went for the ski pole, I thought "good man!"
This vlog is like 50% pizza and 50% you and sam being cute. The best kind of vlog imo. Love your videos and personality, as always!
Hahahaha we had so much pizza
OMG I came on to say pizza for every meal and don’t forget Champagne for every meal and more
Is that her bf?

Switzerland is one of the best countries in the world, even though it's expensive to live there. Such a dream destination.

Loved seeing the outtakes from the main channel video! It’s like watching the bloopers or behind the scenes of a movie!
Love this vlog! You should come to Europe more often, it's so fun to see your perspective on things that are "normal" here!
I found myself smiling so much while watching this 😊 Excited for the videos and vlogs to come!

This is for when we have the 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026 Winter Olympic Games were held in Asia and Europe.
I've never even had a skiing lesson so I'm always intrigued over whether snowboarding or skiing is easier
