    Best part of the video is finding out the man who saved Gibson in the late 80's and made Les Paul's wanted again didn't even play an actual Gibson. Love it.

      @@CompanyGrip reminds me of James Hetfield's white V, I think it was made by Electra.

      @@CompanyGrip If #Gibson puts out a James Hetfield V, you should compare it to Dave's Gibson V. If you are able to that is. I feel like a Signature Guitar or Bass should have Artist correct pickups and electronic control layout. Also, the neck shape should be Artist Specific. That seems like the logical thing to do as a guitar company. Make it play very similar to the artists and sound as similar as can be for the price. I haven't played many instruments, about 10 basses of which 4 are thunderbirds. One guitar being a cheap Yamaha acoustic that was loud as could be. It is crazy how much of a difference there is between guitars and basses as they are very similar in build and function.

    • @CompanyGrip

      That would be a great comparison! I wonder if they would ever do a V for him though since he had the 2236s for the V?

    • @sinakaedwards2009
      @sinakaedwards2009 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CompanyGrip What is the 2236s? I know until recently, the reason they (him and Kirk) never had gibson was because they were with ESP. But, since Kirk got a greeny they may do a V for James, or an Explorer.

    I own the 2018 Anaconda & a 2010 Epiphone Rossa Corsa. Both of these guitars have the SD pro's in them and are absolutely killer. I also purchased a new Slash Victoria from the moderator of our lp forum. He demoed it for his YT channel and then offered it up for $2000 to the quickest buyer! It doesn't have the SD pickups in it and falls short of the other two. Gibson put there own "Slashbuckers" in it...

    Great comparison, the sound is very close to each other, but as always, the Gibson to me sounds a little bit fuller and also spacier (which to me, is not a contradiction)...
    Of course, the huge price difference is not in any relation to the sound gap. Using good equipment, I believe, it's hardly audible.

      @CompanyGrip  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get what you’re saying. Better represented over the entire audio spectrum, perhaps?
      Agreed also, hard to tell with just a controlled drum kit and guitar, probably near unnoticeable in a full band setting I’d imagine.
      Thanks for checking out the video, cheers!

    Great breakdown as usual Grip. I learn something every time. The thing that caught my attention this episode was how round the frets on the Gibson was. I'm saying this because I remember that when I got my 60s Standard the first thing that struck me when I picked it up was how flat the frets were. Now I need to go back and look at your other Gibson Les Paul comparison to see if my frets are an anomaly or not because they are wide but very flat.

    • @CompanyGrip
      @CompanyGrip  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for checking it out. Yeah, i haven’t found the frets on many of these models I’ve been comparing to be very different at all, to be honest! Maybe you got an unintentional special!
      Cheers!

      @@CompanyGrip if buy special you mean having 1/3 of the Fret gone before my heavy-handed fretting started working on them too. But thank you for the answer, if that's the case I definitely got one that isn't normal.

    Excellent review!!! I love Epiphone Slah, however I recognize that the guitar has an inflated price...It is advisable to wait for an offer on the price of this guitar!!!! I thinks that 550$ it's a excellent price, with the money save you could update some components like... pickup (Seymour Duncan Slash Alnico 2), Toggle Switch (Switchcraft) and Ernie Ball Strings... In this point, I think that you would have an excellent quality-price ratio product. Thanks for your video :)

    The camera may be messing with appearance, but the Gibson looks greener, like deeper and more vibrant looking.

    Wow a $5k guitar has plastic inlays? Anyways they sound very similar in tone unlike the Slash epi J45 and the Slash gibi J45. Those two acoustics have very different tone.

    Slightly meatier sound on the Gibson, you can hear the lows are deeper, otherwise it's a tough call.... If you need something that says Gibson on the headstock your natural choice will be the Gibson if you can put the Gibson hype behind you the Epiphone will be the clear winner. I have the November burst Epiphone as well a Gibson LP Stanards 60s and Epiphone has come a long way
