    ------------
    In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
    Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

    Two things:
    In cricket, Russel’s delivery is legal, which I’ll say is good enough for me. The whole foot has to be over the line to constitute a “no ball”
    Secondly, I’m extra impressed by Russell because a rug half assedly rolled out over grass is a shit surface to bowl on

      From where it landed it would have been hard to miss, but at the distance a first time throw to the base of the stumps was decent ! I did come to the comments to see if people were talking about his foot being ahead of the stump but I quite like your explanation for it ! I just like it on the show when they zoom into the foot and call it out, but I can appreciate that most of the foot was behind the line

The rules were clearly stated on the task "attempt must be made from behind the stump". The stump was fully behind the red carpet. Russell touched the red carpet when making his throw. Therefore, Russell was not fully behind the stump.
      What many seem to have overlooked is that Tim also touched the carpet as part of his attempt. He was therefore also in front of the stump, and thus should be disqualified.

      @Elwaves2925 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@adamrobinson6951 I fully agree with you on your points about cricket, however you are also doing what they're doing and making your own rules up.
      At no point do the rules say the person has to be fully behind the stump. As you point out, only the attempt had to be and the throw was from behind the stump. If you stand on the pavement and stick your toes off the kerb, are you standing in the road? No. If you then threw a ball to the opposite pavement, are you throwing it from the pavement or the road? The pavement.
      Either way, it doesn't really matter as the Taskmaster made his decision long before we saw and the Taskmaster's decision is final.

      @@JajaofAbuja yes, half of his foot and nothing else. You can actually slow it down and see that when he releases the ball, everything but that half of his foot is behind the line. The rule doesn't say you can go past the stumps, it says you must make your attempt. It's semantics. As an example, if he laid down, with the bottom half of his body past the stumps and the top half behind the stumps, and flicks the ball with his arm still behind the stumps, was the attempt behind the line? At the end of the day, the rules of this task could be interpreted in different ways, while for Joe they were very specific.
