Anyone else prefer Podricks version to Florence and the Machine?
This piano version is awesome as well :)
Curtis I loved Podrick's singing so much in the episode.. I'm a fan of Florence as well but I can't help but wonder how Alison Krauss would sound singing this.. Check out her singing 'My Ain True Love' from "Cold Mountain" or the 'Wexford Carol' and you'll know what I mean :-) (I'm glad you like my piano version too though!!) ... ah Podrick... hope he's gonna be ok....... ❤️
I like both, Podrick's because it's the mood before battle and everything is about to end, they are stressed out and he somewhat soothes that stress with song, but yet again it leaves bitter taste in their mouth because it's sad song about losing and not being able to accept it.
Florence and the Machine version is what I imagine would have been popular back then, because she has pretty melancholic voice that makes the song even sadder as if she is crying through singing.
Both versions are beautiful in their own way and honestly I cannot make myself choose. For the episode and the scenery, Podrick's Version is just fitting, but I can also see Florence and the Machine's version being performed on stage with the characters all tired of battling and just wishing to relax and drink.
Podrick's is 100x better, yeeessssssssss
I need Pod's version in full, without the extra noise from the show. Someone get Daniel into the studio ASAP!

What a beautiful rendition of what is currently my favorite song! I've been listening to it on loop for the last couple of days ever since GOT69 aired.This cover brings scenes flashing before my eyes as they get teared up. Really nicely done Paul.
