@@DEVILTAZ35 well if it’s that price it will be as popular as the Panasonic- superior but no one will pay that for a 65 inch. Sony tried this extreme pricing and what happened after a few months - they priced like the lg Cx and most times were cheaper or had steeper discounts. With lg c1 and g1 setting a reasonable initial price by the time A90G comes online the lg’s will be discounting. If you can hold and not be first off the block I’d wait till Black Friday when things have died down and the discounts are great

I happened to see the 65 A80J and A90J side by side in my store and honestly the stuff they showed (Greatest Showman 4k HDR Blu Ray via the Sony Flagship player) did look identical on both. Granted the lighting in the shop was no optimal and it was only a single disc (that I watched in the middle for like 15-20min). So IMHO a test would be great. Especially since the A80J is the only model you can get in 77'' with the 83'' A90J substantially more expensive.

One thing that's worth investigating is how aggressively the A90J dims the screen when it detects static UI elements, mostly in games. When playing Monster Hunter Rise (SDR) which has a lot of bright white UI elements, it was very obviously dimming them after a few minutes which detracted from my enjoyment of gaming on the TV. I started getting paranoid that the screen was always dimming during gaming so I ended up returning it and swapping it out with a C1 where I have more control over logo luminance and ABSL.
