The voice recognition is much improved over the last S class, where it was hit or miss. I found the Audi A8 to be superior in that regard. This is is better than both.

The main objections there were that it's lines on profile didn't look refined enough (which was rectified over time, because those design elements were not part of the fundamental / proportional design of the car). With this one, they have really cocked it up. Only Mercedes fanboys and fangirls are prepared to defend this piece of design failure the new S NoClass is. Rest assured, though, it will become a very popular taxi for Uber as it will only be used by people who don't care what it is and what it looks like as long as their 45 min ride to the airport is comfy enough.
The exterior design is ok and has grown on me but doesn't have the same presence as the previous car. The inside is more sporty and doesn't feel as luxury but where the driver sits is actually really nice in the way that everything wraps around you. The rear interior is ok but as you showed in the video, there is a huge step up in tech...also when is the MERCH coming?
I finally love the interior. First time i hated it, but now i like it very much. It looks very sporty and the interior i think they do a good job. In the previous it was perfect but i think this is more futuristic
Exactly... The Mercedes Benz brand has become a watered down luxury company. Rolls and Bentley know that they aren't in competition with a relatively new manufacturer called Tesla... This S Class will be an epic failure.
The drivers' big middle ipad jutting out like that, n not blended n flowed in smoothly into the console makes it look disparagingly hideous... Hope Merc will take note n not repeat this jarring design in its upcoming Maybach saloon...

Mercedes definitely knows how to make you feel special and knows their Technology and Performance very well. I'm definitely blown by their Team like the S-Class is really on a League of it's own I don't think the other Luxury cars have most of their features.

Sorry but I think you've missed the point with criticism on the centre screen; my gripe with it is the lack of physical buttons. Why should I be forced as a driver to use MBUX to change the temp on my ac when currently you can just flick the buttons without even taking your eye of the road? And sorry I don't view large tablets as luxury. Last but not least I'm from SEA and good luck with MB trying to get all those features work in my country. Keep up the good work though; been a big fan of your work since the very early days of RBR.
@Marco Deo i have an uncle who said the same thing about his MBUX and touch screen experiences. I think it works for some markets but not all. It was clearly built for a very narrow audience.

I'm a big fan of the screens. It's something that sets the S apart from the other ones, and I think that's rather important since Mercedes makes their cars look very much a like.
Love your video. Really well produced and written... Thoughts on the ambient lighting; I think I would drive with a colour other than red. I would do this to reserve red for warnings. I think blue would be my colour of choice for greater contrast when the red kicks in.

At the beginning before you started to drive, there was a short clip of the MBUX augmented reality, it seemed pretty long, almost like a dashcam, is that a S class feature? Mine just show the augmented reality for like 3 secondes just right before a corner
the interior is actually very impressive with many features and great quality. The only things I hate are that big head-up display hole in the dashboard, the ac-vents that aren't centered, and the cheap black plastic under the screen and on the controls on the door panels.
I have a 2018 Mercedes Benz E63s and I love my car the tech is crazy and the car is beautiful. This new S class is unreal I will be saving up for this car. Love it
The interior, especially the screens and "dashboard" look like a stripped sports car, not like a luxurious classy sedan! The screen needs to be integrated into the car, not stick out like it is, the drivers dashboard needs to be a proper dashboard, not just a stupid looking screen. The exterior I like, the front part is the best thing about it, the rear headlight look a bit weird and weak, but its fine overall. I think its a good car, but the elegance and luxury feel inside is gone, everything looks and feels plasticky and cheap!

The rumor was saying that there is no plan for coupe version... but I still hope to see S coupe (new CL?) in ~2023. Even though the new SL is coming there is a big space for big Coupe in the market. Will the S-class or any of the other MB classes have a sentry security mode like the Tesla has? All the new MB cars have 360 cameras now with all the parking and safety features. I'm wondering if MB will have the same sentry mode feature that Tesla has. I've seen so many videos of people being caught breaking into, keying, ogling the car and the interior screen, etc.

It's not like we do not want to see the new tech & design but the interior design and layout is very important. Infact, the screen layout and interior design was appreciated and welcomed by almost everyone as it actually gave the feeling of 'S-class'. Believe it or not but this new interior looks too fragile and it isn't quite good looking. It might feel luxurious but because of the tech and material-quality. I personally like the rear seats/rear compartment of the new S-class but I will still say that the previous generation was much more appealing. Other than that, I don't like the fact that there are vwry less physical buttons, I mean, Climate controls and a few other important controls should be easy(with the physical buttons). I also have a question, What is the space empty behind the screen(instrument-cluster screen)? Kindly answer. I'm asking it because the heads-up display is on the windshield and the space there looks empty(and maybe it's prone to collecting dust)

Infact, the screen layout and interior design was appreciated and welcomed by almost everyone as it actually gave the feeling of 'S-class'. Believe it or not but this new interior looks too fragile and it isn't quite good looking. It might feel luxurious but because of the tech and material-quality. I personally like the rear seats/rear compartment of the new S-class but I will still say that the previous generation was much more appealing. Other than that, I don't like the fact that there are vwry less physical buttons, I mean, Climate controls and a few other important controls should be easy(with the physical buttons).
I also have a question, What is the space empty behind the screen(instrument-cluster screen)? Kindly answer.
I'm asking it because the heads-up display is on the windshield and the space there looks empty(and maybe it's prone to collecting dust)
That “space” my guess would be the housing for the necessary equipments to project head up display on to the windscreen.

I wonder what the new G-wagon is gona be like. Think it’ll be similar interior design like this S-class? Also can’t wait to see the new C-class. I’ve seen a lot of pics of different designs of the new c-class.
