Excellent! What an achievement to reinstate the service in 8 weeks!

An historic record and great personal history of the events from 10 years ago and the journey to protect Dawlish, the coast and the railway line. Thanks Neil, very nicely done indeed, a very professional video.

I remember watching this all unfold whilst working in Thailand. Little did I know I would relocate to Holcombe from Nottingham 3 years ago. I do confess to not having even heard of Teignmouth prior to moving. Love the place. Good video. Thanks.👍❤️

Great recap! I was able to visit Dawlish for a day while on holiday this past December. It was quite nice, after watching the construction progress over the past several years, to see it all in person.

Thanks for that, some footage that explains a few things... was an "interesting" night further round Lyme Bay too. Very glad Dawlish got a sea wall worth the name now ( I suspect it'll last longer than the rest of Dawlish! ) and I'm quite curious what the rockfall shelter is going to end up like, but I have to say...
Who thought the architecture for the rebuilt station was remotely fitting? that bridge and the way up to the station is a brutalist slab of grey concrete straight out of the worst of the 1960s - it's not going to weather like the rest of the architecture either, it's just going to be dirty grey concrete with probably some marine foliage clinging to it. The sea-facing wall is fine because you don't see it often but that block bridge just looms over everything. The rockfall shelter at least got coloured to match the local stone!

One of my videos, there is a fish flapping around on the platform. Can't remember which one. 🤣
