Thanks so much for your comment. Having such a small space we need to be well organised. How are you finding the electric bed in your RM20? Does it also have a manual function or just electric?
@@vantripinoz369 I’ve been lucky with our bed, never really had a drama. I think you can wind it down manually with an Allan key bug I’ve read that it takes a long time to wind up & down manually. Another advantage of the RM19. Not having to rely on electrics is good. 😃
Thankyou, storage is a thing I'm wrangling with atm. I still don't have my MH yet (Aug 2024 maybe). WOW do you need all that stuff? I'm still thinking of kitchen, linen, food, pantry, plus my computer, printer, craft stuff ... and here you're showing all the "camper" stuff - stuff I never thought of yet! ROFL. Mind you, I have taken note, and I've also bookmarked this video!
Hi, thanks so much for your question. It does seem like a lot, but we use everything we take. Over time we've learned what we need and what to leave out. We are planning our lap of the map trip and on this trip we'll also take an airfryer and manual washer for our clothes. We do have some storage under the fridge and we have 6 over head cupboards above the bed where we store clothes, towels, extra food etc. It may seem a bit daunting at first but you'll work out what works best for you. Check out our other videos on our van and where we've been. They may give you some other ideas. thanks again.
Thanks guys! I'm about to pack my life into an RM19 in 11 days time! Moving in full time and travelling around the country without an end date. This video has been very helpful. May I ask, do you miss having a dinette to sit at for your meals inside the van? As I'm a single, I'm debating whether to custom the bed into a 1 seat dinette and an east/west bed situation. Many thanks, Emma :)
Hi Emma, wow, that’s so exciting. I’m sure you’ll have many exciting adventures. We’re currently planning our lap of the map. Regarding the bed, we usually eat outside. If the weather’s bad we both sit across the bed. I have seen one couple make the dinette into 2 single beds, but small maybe, but that could be an option. Check out our other videos on our rm 19 and the places we’ve been, they may give you some other ideas. Happy trails
@@vantripinoz369 Thank you for the response! Good to know you haven't missed it. Enjoy your lap planning. It's very exciting. Hope to see you on the road! Safe travels.
Hi, some great ideas for us to follow, however do you have a small BBQ or cooker or just use the gas stove? Can you use the cupboard under the refrigerator? Thank you
Hi, we use the gas cook top. But we also take a fry pan as well. Yes, we store more things under the fridge, such as the fry pan. We are plannig a lap of the map and on this trip we'll also take an air fryer and a manual washer for our clothes
Great vid I’m still trying to figure where to put things..I have an outdoor shower so can’t access under seats unless I move my bedding ( as have it as bed full time )which can be annoying but I put stuff I don’t need frequently 😉 safe travels
Hi, Yes the gas only takes up about 1/4 of the space. We always leave our bed made up with a double matress and unfortunatly there's no access hatch on this side that allow entry to that section. I suppose one could be put in
I feel like there's got to be tons of ideas from old sailors or other sea farers...i thought being in a van must be like a boat sometimes, stuff ends up moving around over time... slightly. It's not like a house in that way. Took me a while to realize things in vehicles move around unless you secure them. But the only thing i know of is a navy thing maybe. Basically it's just to use pieces of string (or paracord) to tie up your clothes, instead of folding them. Roll them up and then wrap with string and learn good knots i think it's called the Canadian cinch line or something Canadian... can tighten up but not loosen and comes apart easily. That way your clothes can go in a bag but still remain organized somewhat. Also minimalism. Or... own fancy gear that is highly functional to replace several other things. I could spend a lifetime figuring it all out but i feel like the know how is already extant i just don't know how to find it! Probably military stuff, booklets
Thanks so much for your ideas. We still change things up from time to time as we see what else might work. Just when we think we have it sorted something changes. Thanks again.
Thanks for your helpful videos. I would like to know where you store the plates and cups etc. Plus I would like to take an air fryer with me when I receive my motorhome next week. All food for thought?
Hi, We store our plates and cups in the cupboards under the sink. We use a wire rack to hold the plates. We also take an air fryer with us and store it under the fridge. In the cupboard under the draw we have 2 baskets that we use to store food in. Remember that the ensuite can be used to store things as well when you're travelling. Hope this helps.
Hi Steven, Glad you enjoyed the video. The 2 hoses are both 10m freshwater hoses. Just a different colour because they were purchased from different stores. I found on 1 occasion that 1 hoses didn't quite reach the tap. So I purchased a second just to avoid that problem.
Towards the end of this video you mention a "big privacy screen that goes around the windscreen and passengers windows". I presume this is an external screen. Could you give more information, costing and where you purchased this please. Thanks.
Hi, The screens came with our Jayco but the website on them is solarscreen.com.au The screens are internal on the windscreen and front windows as well as the rear. I hope this helps.
@@vantripinoz369 Thanks for that. We got all those on our RM19.1 From your description as "wrapping around" I thought they were external which I am interested in.
