Fix Dell iDRAC Virtual Console Network Connection Dropped Issue

  • I met a couple of times this issue recently. Launch Virtual Console failed to a couple of machines, but not all. I was thinking it must relate to iDRAC firmware version, local Java Security settings, Java version changes, or Java.security file change etc, based on some google searches.
Actually, the fix was so easy. Just to reset iDRAC and it will come back fine. I am not sure how many hours I was wasted to google online.
Recorded this video to show someone who has same problem as me. Hopefully this can save your day.

Actually this is FALSE things to do. What you need to do is is open your Wordpad or any other text editor as Administrator. Then open the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_261\lib\security\java.security.
Then comment the following "jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3". This should fix your issue.

Just switch to HTML5 in the Virtual console settings. Solved

I was only troubleshooting Java versions. Reseting iDRAC works form me too...

Why can't Dell just acknowledge that accessing iDRAC is an utter ball-ache every time? Have this problem EVERYWHERE I go.

Same failure after reset. Other browsers warn you about expired certificate. Mozilla does not.

Hi Steven, your issue might be different from mine. You might want to check your Firmware version, java version, security settings, etc. Is it working in same network ? Is there any other machine works? My issue is just one kind of issue you might met. But it looks like my solution does not fit to you.
