Also a Vietnam vet, draftee and atheist, both then and now. I was raised a catholic, but it didn't take. As a teenager I read and studied about religion extensively, and concluded that they could not possibly all be right, so they must all be wrong. Thank you for the interview.

You and I have a different opinion about the goodness of people. Spending my youth in an abusive Catholic Church then my adulthood as a trans person who is facing constant attacks from politicians and people on the right. And what about all the horrors you've seen in war. The violence and hatred around the world. How in the world can you say that people are mostly good!
