I am a EU citizen, I legally arrived in Ireland years ago , I showed my ID at the airport, registered for PPS number, always worked, paid taxes, never had a problem with the local legal system, no problem with the Irish. I moved also because Ireland WAS a safe country with a strong sense of community.
There's no EU country that I can think of where the people voted for this kind of unregulated immigration from countries where there's no war. My Irish friends, what you're seeing now has been happening in other EU countries for many years, but you didn't care much because it wasn't affecting you. When something affects EU borders, it affects everyone in Europe.
Advice: 1 Remember what is happening very well the next time you'll vote.
2 Ignore the word racist because it has no real meaning anymore. Those who use it do so when they have nothing to say. Those who are not in your situation will call you names but it's ok.

As an Australian who has came to this beautiful green isle, working, paying taxes and not so much as a parking ticket, the amount of rigmarole I had to go through to move here (immigration, job registration etc) was huge. And rightly so!!
