This is one of the clearest explanations of how the glass on glass system works (and its benefits over traditional solar) that I've yet seen ... and I've seen quite a few. Well done and keep up the good work!
Great video, I'd love to see one about mounting systems for glass-glass bifacial panels. They would make a perfect patio roof replacement here in sunny SA
I Need to make small expérience (effet of soiling on bifacial) Do you know please where Can i buy a small mini bifacial Modul (Just Like the one you hold in your Hand)?
Is this the Arizona State University project that the government wouldn't support because it wipes out all the extra space that the solar panel elongated create, along with repair cost, and space, and well trash? I thought the PERC monos were powdered glass? Better than the invention of the light bulb! Thanks for sharing. I've seen this in a small generator style unit (size of a medium to large box) with little perc panels, power an entire college for months only to replace the little panels as often as a house lightbulb, one at a time (quite nice actually) lasted a months upon end and only a few panels. Lol. I wonder what's going to become of the wind industry if that's ever kicking off period what are politics going to try next? I've already heard of the really small windmills in people's homes being taxed for containing stored energy in the home owners personal generators in New England. Cheers mate.
Thanks Claudia, this is from our experience in Cape Town, South Africa. PERC or 'Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact” is a better type of panel solar cell that can be found in laminated or plastic backsheet panels or in glass on glass solar panels, we prefer glass on glass or also referred to as double glass panels for improved longevity and lower rates of panel degradation.
@@MSPD-Africa mono double glass, wow, surely will slow degredation. Now,. What about the space in-between.with moisture? How's that? Sounds promising overall, making the cell last longer. The powdered glass did something similar. I wonder how they compare.
@@claudiashannon417 Hi Claudia, we have been using glass on glass or double glass since 2016, there has been no moister so far between the layers of glass
great for solar in monohulls , or even catamarans. Less realestate needed, and less bird crap and salts affecting, also big plus for no sun tracking system in salty env. . Lights (although DEL not much) inside or under the solar bimini will generate little power at night. I used the marina spot lights (very powerfull) for my calculator ... I am looking at the distance for light reflection water/air barrier , Diffuse or mirror , diffuse should be better.
Thanks Raja, good question PERC, which stands for Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell or Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact, is a new technology that achieves higher energy generation by adding a dielectric passivation layer on the rear of the cell collecting high-frequency sunlight that passes through the solar cell.

Thank you
We have built a green house with them
There is so little content about using frameless and bifacial panels, it would make a great video

Do double glass modules also have a higher snow load rating?
It was nice explanation and look like futuristic method of power production.
Thank you

Dear Akallal, the small panel in our video is a laminated example, I am not sure but try www.solarinnova.net/
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge . appreciated ! I learned a lot today:)

Hi. I'm looking to just solar power my PC throughout my working day (Working from home). Any ideas what can be used? Thanks

PID is not potential induced difference, it s potential induced degradation, cheers, nice video
Thank you
If i Mount them on a Shiny/Reflective surface (like polished metal roof) the output will be better? What about heat?
we have found the yield about 2-3% higher on white or silver roof sheets, the heat has not been a problem
@@MSPD-Africa thanks.
If there is no shading then is half cut any better? Also in hot climates the PERC might collect more heat.
both half cell and PERC are better in all enviroments
How is this panel for installation of the power optimizers do I need extra cable?
Optimizers can be installed as normal without the need for additional cables.

Looks like they'll be best in snow.
Thank you JEC, yes snow offers the best albido or reflected light conditions.

Small correction. PID is potential induced degradation not potential induced difference.
