    I do like their ratchets but i like Snap-on, SK, Cornwell and Gearwrench ratchets too but the Matco ratchets are the only ones that constantly fail which is why i stopped using them. If i have to get it fixed 2 times a year I'll just use something else

    Been watching you for years but you're looking pretty down man. This comes from a fellow going thru a lot of changes and stresses life loves to throw at us. If I'm wrong then great. Don't give up! Glad ur back to wrenching 🤙

    I haven't bought anything from a tool truck in 20 years, since it has been about that long since I worked in a shop. Other than the price I have never disliked anything I bought from SnapOn. Other than a couple of things I never cared much for Matco. I hated the ratcheting screwdriver I bought from Matco back in the 80s, but SnapOn ratcheting screwdrivers have been great and I think I have 4 or 5 of them. Back in my earlier days of buying tools when I was starting out Matco and SnapOn were the only tool truck options in my area. And there weren't many other options either. Harbor Freight retail stores weren't a thing though I did order some things through the mail from a catalog (no internet either). The closest Sears store with a tool department was a little over 3 hours away. I did buy quite a bit of Craftsman stuff though and would just keep a collection of broken stuff to exchange when I went there a couple times a year. There weren't any big box stores with tools at all in my area. Auto parts stores were about the only places with decent tools and those were pricey.
    I never ran up any big bills on the tools trucks and my tool boxes were usually Craftsman and did the job I needed them to do. Now that I don't work in a shop doing repairs and exchanges is a big pain because I have to track down the tool trucks when they are in my area.

    Ratchets that fail in a year are a definite no-go for me. They may ferl good, but I have ratchets from the 1960's that have never failed.

    I did my front brakes today and broke my Husky 1/2" drive flex swivel. Guess the angle wasn't friendly to it using my impact. I'll be looking for some impact swivel sockets. Love your channel and good luck with the job search!

    The airlift is a sore subject with me right now. My guy said he can no longer get parts for mine. Granted I have had for over 10 years now. I just can’t see paying well over $200 again.

    I know matco rebrand their tools but the air hammer is the strongest I own one their O2 sensor tool is the best it beats snapon I own both and the snapon will slip sometimes but the matco hasn't slipped yet even with a pipe on the handle

    Our local Matco truck is a barren wasteland. Literally empty, with the exception of some used tools. We ask him why he even keeps updated flyers when he never ever has any of it.
    If a tool truck distributes the flyers they absolutely have to have at least some of those things on the stinking truck!!!’

      You are describing the same situation my old Matco guy went through before cashing out. He went on for 3 years after heavily reducing his selection and only servicing his preferred (paying) customers. In the end, he liquidated his remaining inventory after he sold his truck to another franchisee (Mac not Matco). I got the tools for pennies on the dollar and even cashed out my remaining balance for less than half of what I owed. Fyi the tools i got from him were rebranded and easily serviceable by the other tool trucks (example: mastercool, CRKT, Lisle, VIM). The heavy discount also affords me thw option to trade em in once broken for competitor tools at a heavy discount as well.

  • @donaldpainter956
    @donaldpainter956 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    But 1/2 inch air impact the matco is strong but the snapon is stronger I got both they are around 5 years old bought at the same time and I've had some ball joints the matco was struggling with couldn't move but the snapon had no trouble I had to replace leaf springs in a old rusty farm truck and you know the bolts do seize in the bushing matco couldn't do it but snapon took them out the matco is a little shorter so it can get into tighter spots

    This has to be a first for me. Anybody even comparing matco to snap on on the hammer gun I used it when I was in the trash company. Biggest paperweight I had bought me a Snap-On never looked back

    I disagree about the boxes, the hutchs are too short and storage space isn't great either, I prefer my 60 inch epiq, ratchets I agree they don't have the strength of the snapon but overall I do like them

    • @PowerStrokeJude

      I agree, I'll take Snap-on storage all day
      I'd take Mac storage before Matco too but that is just me. Their are a lot of Matco box fans out there.
