Advice from someone who works on these sort of projects, paint those yellow lines first, then cover those with tape and now when you paint the red it will make a nice clean line.
Use primer, coat 2 coats for the base color, then seal with clear matte polyurethane to protect it after the paintjob is complete. I love painting especially scenic painting and props for theatrical productions.
