In 2021 I bought a Midnight Blue 2003 911 turbo because it was a solid, locally available 911 for a good price. Every cars and coffee event I take it to someone asks “what color is this??” In some light it’s blue, others black, others purple - it all depends where you are. I love it.
I was always a silver/gray person and owned many silver and gray BMWs in the past until one day I saw a sapphire blue 911 GTS, I was never a same person. I then went out and brought a sapphire blue 911 GTS. I love the color.
I dream my 50 year Beetle I restored is a 912 but prices for air cooled Porsche’s is going to keep it a dream , love your video’s and fan of the classic yellows
Best way to show a taste difference: Pick a color. I am amazed at the colors that have made it onto Porsches over the years. Perhaps that is one of the things that set Porsche owners apart, the desire to step out with an.....interesting?.....color on their car. I suppose it would be fun to sport some of the brighter colors if I didn’t have to worry about officer friendly with a speed gun. Perhaps Porsche should consider renaming a few of the attractive colors (attractive to the police that is). My suggestions might include: Incarceration Red, Prison Orange, Triple Digit Yellow, Impound Purple, Parole Blue, Innocent White, Felony Green. Our cars just naturally attract attention from Mr. LEO. I guess that is just part of the fun of owning a Porsche.
My 04 986.2 Boxster is a PTS Pastel Yellow.. interestingly this color was available on the early model years of the 986. IMO it looks MUCH better on the midcycle refresh 986.2 because of the deletion of the amber colored signals and marker lights. The amber and the Pastel Yellow did not work well together.
I’m a pretty HUGE fan of Porsches palette of blues! Specifically, Lapis blue, and like you, Iris blue. The darker greens run a close second. Irish green if I have to pick only one! Then whites, oranges. After that, it depends. I’m a fan of the Millennium Violet Chromaflair (flip paint), Aubergine and the GT silver on the 40th anniversary! Atlas grey is kind of cool (flip paint colour)
I am totally with you on the dark metallic retro green ..... this is the way I would go. Make your new car look classic. Not a fan of uber bright colours .... a bit brash and Miami Beach .... and I live in England so sort of says it all .... hehehe

Man, I just researched this color out of curiosity. I saw a video of a GT2 RS in that color and with bronze wheels. It's simply the most beautiful green I've ever seen in my life.
My 17 carrera is black, but I would have chosen night blue metallic if I could have found one in the right spec. Having a manual coupe was more important to me than having a specific color, and I love it to pieces. It is actually getting an oil change right now, and it is a slick top, base spec with bose, base seats, and the only transmission for a drivers car. I have gotten an apr stg 1 tune, dsc pasm remap, and added a soul exhaust/sport cats! I take it to autox and hpde, and I am having so much fun with it
Can look flat on a dull day and you see a lot of Audis in this colour now, which always made me cringe. I had a 21 MY Carrera S in Riviera. Now have Gulf Blue on 23 MY Carrera 4 GTS (with Aerokit), very special.
My favorite right now and the one I am getting on my next Porsche is Aetna Blue. I didn't see it on your list though. Maybe it's more exclusive or newer.

PTS gives you a choice of additional colors from a list whereas PTS+ allows you to actually do a paint to a sample that you provide. Talk to your dealer.
I think you just slammed Arena Red...how dare you sir Lol. I think it is a great colour on the 993 and Eddie Van Halen thought so too :) On another note, I see Frozenberry Mettalic is available on the Cayman as of this week. Does it not resemble Cassis Red???
Awhile back I attempted to order my Carrera S cab in Gulf Blue. About 3 months passed and PAG wrote back and said, “no can do.” (It apparently was problematic in those days-2006-to produce PTS cars in light nonmetallic colors). I switched to a former Ferrari blue from a 50s race car. Another month or so passed. No can do. Finally, I picked a color from their near past (1997) which they finally agreed to do-albeit with a month longer delivery delay. Complicating the order was European delivery. Eventually, I arrived some nine months after ordering, in Zuffenhausen, a first of its kind Blue Turquoise. Eventually some others chose it as well. There eventually were about 4 BT 997s running around the USA. As always with Porsche, be patient.
@@JAYREAD I still have it. I actually drive my cars so it has over 120,000 miles on it. It’s worked out to be great color, over the natural brown full leather interior. It shares my garage with a 64 356C in Ruby Red over black, and a two tone 77 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II. Apparently, I got a deal on PTS in 2005 because today’s PTS costs have gone up significantly. The car is featured in the February 2008 PCA magazine Panorama.
My favourites are Ocean Jade Metallic (ideally with nephrite green or metropole blue interior) and Violet Blue Metallic (my 986 S is Meridian Metallic, which is a little boring, but more subtle than Arctic Silver). Viola and Zenith Blue look good too, but too many people specced these with a grey or savannah interior... I too would love to see more ivory, aubergine, orange, lime green and yellow cars, and Pascha trim. Pastel yellow would be interesting on a long-bonnet 911/912 or a 356. Cassis looks great on 70s/80s transaxle cars and air-cooled 911 turbos, as does Cognac Brown. Crystal blue would look great on a Taycan.

Hey! I would love to get your thoughts on the following. In the poll I saw Ice Blue Metallic. Was it a PTS color or was it not on the 997.2 Turbo S? Some sources say it was. Some say it wasn't. What is your take on it?
I feel white and the ivory you like look better on older 911s where there was black trim and highlights. The black bits break up the white and provide definition of the shape. In new cars, the body lines get lost in white without something to break up.

If you had to pick between Lapis Blue & Aqua Blue …. I’m thinking your choice of Lapis will be due to a tendency towards purple. 😁🙏👍
