Is it 1.5 times the total expenses or the personal funds that we need to show? Since the scholarship and teaching Assistantship will cover the amount in the second year too!
Thank you so much for this video, what matters most when presenting proof of funds, is it available balance on the bank statement or the summary of different transactions for a particular period of time like 4 months??. Does mutual fund count towards the proof of funding. As mutual funds are not fixed over time and vary on day-to day basis!

my I20 amount is 55K usd, and after the tuition fee waiver and on campus employment the net expenses mentioned are 36K USD. I have been sanctioned an education loan of 55KUSD and I have my savings of 30K USD as well, on top of that my parents are willing to sponsor if I need any. As it is mentioned in my I20 about the assistantship , do I still need to mention in my source of funding in VI??

I have fixed deposits in my account, more than 1.5x of which that is mentioned in my i20 and also, my father is going to sponsor my education and bear all the expenses during my stay in the united states with his personal savings. what should be the only primary source of funds that can be mentioned in the DS 160 form and to the visa officer that would really enhance my profile and increase the chances of getting the visa approved this time? (NOTE: I have applied for the f1 visa in 2017 for three times and my father was the only sponsor and source of funding in 2 attempts and my elder brother was the second sponsor in the third attempt.)
If your father is the main sponsor, then you can mention his name. You can show your funds as the backup/buffer option.

If he is the sponsor, then his financials will be relevant. Along with reasons as to why he is sponsoring you.

talk about their relationship to you, they have been your mentor, guide etc.
If my I20 amount is 25 lakhs, and my loan sanction amount is 40 lakhs for 2 years, do I need to show additional funds because loan sanction amount for 1 year is still 40/2 = 20 lakhs (which is less than I20 amount) (or) whatever the loan sanctioned amount i.e. 40 lakhs will be entirely considered and can be accepted as greater than 1.5*I20?

Hi, I applied for an F1-Visa but got denied. I have loans/grants and additionally had my parents as a sponsor. My father doesn't have a high-paying job and my mother is a homemaker. Could this be the reason I got denied? Does the occupation of your sponsor matter, even when you can show the savings being in the bank? Would it be better if I just put the money in my bank account and have myself stated on the I-20 as partly funding my education instead of my parents?

HI shachi , so i am self funded that is i will be showing my savings and an education loan ( loan is the major part of my funding ) 90% rest 10 % is my personal saving , this all totals to 2x of my i20 amount , will that be enough or is showing a sponsor a mandate , btw i have been working for 4 year and thats how i saved this money.
