I will say that I haven't cared much for some of the other post T2 films but do feel they got back on track with dark fate. That film wasn't bad at all. Might even be my second fav in the franchise
In my opinion is Robert Patrick's liquid metal concept at that time was what made the movie so famous, many say it's the Schwarzenegger's Terminator T-800, but come on, we know for sure that liquid metal concept is what brought the flick to a kick ass level way ahead of its time.

Robert Patrick is probably the scariest Terminator of all...no human feelings.
And can morph/replicate a human being, or an object by touch. I always remember the scene in the kitchen where his hand morphs into a knife, and he kills his foster dad by shoving the knife through the milk bottle that he was swigging on, and through his face🫣😮

It would help if they'd stick with their own mythology and continuity. Though I think 3 was good too because all that was ever going to happen was Connor being saved to survive the future. they weren't changing time they were only keeping the timeline intact & Arnold's Terminator died fulfilling that role. As Rod Serling would say time is inviolate able. You can't change time no matter what you do, the best that happens is you realize your actions have always been part of the history you aim to change. I think most were disappointed in the ending because Skynet wasn't destroyed but the real mission protecting John Connor, was always the goal as he was needed in the future to end the war

T2 still one of the, if not THE best Action Movies ever made. Just 2+ hours of straight action, suspense and intrigue. With very few notes of well-placed comedy, how it should be done. First time I saw it, my had Mom rented it on VHS for me and my brother when we were home with the chicken pox. I think I was in 2nd grade. We both cried at the end. Haha

Awesome bro. Though you should probably put fan-made in the thumbnail and not 'official teaser" as it may be confusing to some.
In my opinion, they just need to create a Terminator movie on the actual future war similar to the glimpse we saw in Terminator 1 and 2. I thought Salvation was going to do that, but it went off course. Obviously, you want a good story line with it, but the backdrop of the future war would really give the movie a lot of potential. Just make Arnold a top-general in John Connor's military that teaches him how to lead/fight while becoming a father figure in parallel. Afterwards, have Skynet take Arnold and make him the template for the T-800. Spitballing the idea, but I think at least some would agree the future war is something we'd like to see.

I've thought the same thing. They were brief scenes in those films but very memorable. If they were to make one set in the future war, I would like it to be as gritty and dark as depicted in those scenes. Seeing humanity pushed to the brink of extinction and heavily outgunned with the last remnants clinging on.. but it's probably too depressing for mainstream audiences.
At this point it's best for all of us to just leave the future war all a mystery that you can make up our solve in your own head rather than them make another shit terminator movie and further add insult to injury

I don’t understand why people seem so impressed with Robert Patrick’s performance. His role was literally to be an emotionless cyborg.
I think Linda Hamilton should get the highest praise out of anyone in the movie. Her character was actually complex, full of emotion, and a complete change from her role as a young Sarah Connor.
First role in a major picture. And it's not the emotionlessness that people praise its his ability to appear almost human but there's something off. It falls into the uncanny valley and it makes people uncomfortable.
It's the fact that he KEEPS to that emotionless state. And you can see with his motions and actions that he really is a ruthless killing machine. Even when he's being shot, or when he's in the process of killing some-one, the character shows no expression other than that stare except where he has to put a momentary 'act' to gather information. The actor is literally repressing the most human instincts to actually react emotively to everything. It's more talent than you realize if you think about it more carefully. He didn't just act 'emotionless' he actually owned and protrayed the soulless killing machine in every scene. Running, jumping, clinging to a car hood, being shot at, stabbing targets with blade arms, watching them die and not even blinking. It's unnerving how absolutely unaffected he looked while doing all of it.
@@Sinspiration I get it. The character is cool. He does as well portraying the character as anyone could. He is a terrific actor (he was great in the Sopranos). Unnerving, for sure. I just don’t think acting emotionless demonstrates mind blowing acting ability. If your character is emotionless, I doubt it would be as challenging as you’re making it out to be to not act like a human who is killing someone or getting shot, but to act like an emotionless cyborg who feels no pain is killing someone or getting shot. I believe it would be more challenging to act how an actual human would if they were killing someone or getting shot, especially with all the production stuff on set going on right outside of the view of the cameras.
And that is why she didn’t get the highest praise because there is nothing new about humans being like that. Arnold was also that same version in T-1 but the one played by Robert was super complex and rarely hard to pull off perfectly during a time the movie was released. Robert’s role was a game changer for that time era. Watching it in 2022 is not the same as watching in the early 90s

I've always wanted to see a Terminator story about the original John Connor timeline.
The John Connor not altered by a Terminator's time travel into the past.
The John Connor who originally led the resistance to SkyNet.
Because the entire Terminator franchise started out with an already altered timeline from the original.
That's the main plot of the original movie (Terminator 1).
I mean, think about it:
Every time they send a Terminator back into the past to kill John Connor and fails, that just makes future John Connor that much smarter/stronger, since future John Connor now has an idea of what he's up against since he had to fight it in the past.
But OG John Connor had to go about it alone, so to speak, with NO idea of what the future holds.
THAT's a story that I think would be pretty interesting.
I kind of think it's one of those weird time things where the original John Connor timeline was always effected by time. As without it he could have never of been born in the first place.
Yes and no. Since the events of both Terminators would alter his path I would think he wouldn't even be the leader of the resistance anymore. This is basically why I like the idea of killing him off, but they completely botched the execution (no pun intended)

I think John Connor always had the future knowledge in every timeline, because Kyle Reese always comes back in time to save Sarah Connor, and she always trains him to become the leader of the resistance.

I feel that it would have been extremely unlikely John would have been the leader of the resistance after the events of T1 and even more unlikely after T2. There is no fate, etc. Just sending back terminators likely would have been enough imo.

This whole series is off the rails. The order through Salvation was the right path. The fifth movie should have been immediately following Salvation with mankind fighting back/revealing how the terminators got their looks. The 6th being the finale when the T1000 comes into existence/SkyNet is defeated we see the time displacement field and Kyle getting sent back.
It’s never too late.. And especially with time displacement equipment..

Terminator started out with a bang, and what a bang it was, the first film was the one that got it going, for sci-fi fans it got us dreaming, and it was raw and violent that why we liked it, sadly with the next installments they got all political and left what we wanted out, the films were still good, but didnt touch the first one, and the years between the first and second was far too long, its a collection i still play, producers dont care about us Sci- Fi fans, we got a decent TV series and it was good, sometimes even better than some of the later films, it took us in a different direction, and the main Terminator was a young girl about the same age as John, and it worked, we got through the first series and waited for a second series, which we got, it was as good as the first series, and towards the end of the second series John went into the future, where no one knew him, do if no one knew who John Connor is, who starts the fight against the machines??, its so frustrating, but producers do that to those of us that like Sci-Fi...
Wish this was real. I'd like to see a decent John Connor and Arnie perhaps in a human role with am explanation and maybe Robert Patrick same too. It's sad how the franchise lost it. I'd love a revitalisation.
A mix between salvation and genisys was the way to go imo. The whole plot of salvation showing us the future war is what I think a lot of the fans wanted to see but, it wasn’t as futuristic as we expected. It had a more modern style no plasma weapons everyone is using normal guns and the resistance is flying around in jets and helicopters. If you combine that with the future war segments from genisys where they show the battle that leads to kyle being sent back that would be the money maker.
Since seen the first time at the start of seeing terminator the first time, that is what i'm waiting for n as sequel to t4 by the same authors it would've been great. Even with the strange plot of the comic sequels of t4. Only problem i see is that they would prolly not include tscc's story into their timeline which created a way out of the time travel cycle that basicly boxed terminator stories from the start into the paradox dependence on its losing the war to set the events in motion n start the war. Also the shows solution of a 3rd party of rogue machines created by an unobediant t1001 opened up way more interesting ways to end the story no matter if by peace with skynet or it's defeat. Without the show's 3rd party the defeat by the humans would b boring cuz we know it was to happen since t1 and it would start the cycle again cuz john can't kill the first terminator sent back if he want's to b born. So peace is the only option n the comics way to arrange it is weird as f but also the only way to buy in cuz it's unbelievable that an ai that advanced only driven by fear to b killed by humans, would ever listen to john who could reason with it. Also john, without the shows events does forget how to trust a machine more n more even with the t4 experience. The reanimated t - h is a stretch cuz after dying it's theorericly only skynet running him cuz his soul wouldn't remain on standby perhaps and even if hus t part kept him alive as soon his heart was gone , skynet would want him out after it was his human will that enabled him to take over skynet n refuse orders. Only 1000ers could disobey based on their ai alone. A good sequel n final for the franchise actually has to continue the show n can't even include t4 as sad as that might be, but i rather would sacrifice that movie in change for the benefits of the tscc timeline. The show was easily the best filmed content of the franchise after t1 n t2. In terms of breaking the paradox storycycle it even bested them both.

Robert patrick in real age makes no sense for a t1000 who also is destroyed n has no duplicate in that form, t1001was female by default n t1002 was in comics n even if, - still wouldn't age.
The snippets seem all over the place n display no hinted plot at all. Also the high number of so different snippets would fit in a show not a movie. Exept, for a movie thats a mindless collage of action scenes that has no weight in storytelling instead ... a movie that would b about as bad as t5 or t6 if the woke portion also is part of it in the whole thing.
After the betrail by james cameron and the deceptive marketing for t6 terminator fans are prolly so pissed off that it is questionable that any studio would still risk an aaa budged for another terminator movie that would need to once more reboot half of the movies done so far, even with the rebooting being a major critique point fans had so far.

They should make Arnold play the role of being the human they copied and from which they created T800. Then he can play himself old as he is. He can tell the story about how he was the "perfect human" to copy etc etc...

Nah. Could've been 6 movies. 1-Salvation. 5th one being humanity's fight back. 6th when SkyNet is defeated and Kyle is sent back. End of series. Then you could spinoffs of characters backstory and in the future fighting.
Terminator 7 should be about the Terminator being sent back to protect Sarah Connor when she was a small child. That or maybe her son gets sent back to protect her from the terminator. Keep the story simple. Also, maybe instead of cybornetic terminator, it's a human sent back to kill her and the terminator is there to protect her.

As some others have stated. The next movie needs to be the future the first to films we’re predicting. The machines have taking over. We need a great story line and with amazing cinematography. If you can get Christopher Nolan to be the director, I think we could have a masterpiece and something that recaptures the fan base.

exactly as I imagined the sequel after T2...you had to show a darker film a bit like in T1 rather....or full of terminator in the streets, a story and an intensity that rises rather than making several copies of T2.
Being a big fan of this franchise need a good & new Story line for a new Blockbuster i.e Terminator

Am I the only person who liked terminator 3? The one with Claire Danes. The second was the best, most would agree to that. But I thought 3 was pretty rocking. All terminators after 3 sucked though.
