I watched your video after I made the replace, my problem was that the thermal pads were powder already. I had to clean up all the thermal paste and pads and had to replace them. The only problem I got was to disconnect the small cable, I just couldn't.

I hate the cables, my chubby fingers just cant seem to grip them normally, did you notice a large difference in temps in the hotspot once you replaced the pads?

Application of that thermal paste was too smooth 👀

Practice just means you still get thermal paste all over you anyway!

I've bought one of those recently and everything is fine until it reaches about 70-75C,the delta from the hotspot reaches 20+C,sometimes 110,after a repaste it's a bit better, but still quite high, any chance for some advice?

I have found this same issue with a different Radeon card recently, As i am far from a professional the way i countered this was to give the card a slight under volt, This reduced the delta down to about 10c, I will be replacing the thermal pads on that once i have time so if that helps again i will update.

@@DumbDownTech exactly what I did,a small undervolt, keeps the card at about 65C/75-77C hotspot, seems to work fine, just a bit weird that temps go so high,i hope it's just ambient temps combined with some pretty bad front intake fans

@@m4fya260 Here is hoping that the issue improves, If you do find anything else that fixes please let me know as i am always looking to learn more, And i will update if i find another way to fix it

@@DumbDownTech Well,my hot ambient temps deff heat up the card,at night when it cools off more i can keep the card at the same temps with fans way quieter,so i'll keep the undervolt and maybe buy some PTM 9750,heard very good things about it.and maybe some better case fans

@@m4fya260 Thank you, i didn't even know about PTM 9750, after some research after your comment i now want to give this a try, You sent me down a rabbit hole for cooling so work may now be a struggle tomorrow 😂
