- In this video, I'm showing how I grow my locs fast. This was how I was able to retain length and grow my starter locs but feel free to make it your own and do what works for you. I hope these tips helped and that your locs grow wonderfully.

Or just do NOTHING and let nature and time do the work. Why is everyone in a rush? Locs are a SLOW process.
STOPPPP. please don’t leave rice water in your hair for that long or do it very often. Rice water is a protein treatment which is why your hair has been growing, but what people don’t tell you is that you can actually overload your hair with protein which can weak the strands a follicle and eventually stung grow. Rice water is a treatment that should be done every so often ( about 4-5x a year)
i will say everyone’s experience with rice water is different and can affect everyone’s hair differently. I’ve been doing it my way for years now and haven’t had an issue however i do know some people are not able to do that because of the high protein of the rice water so you are 100% correct. This is just what works for me. Thank you for commenting this though because it is important❤️

@@yourfavoritejaz5544 the thing about hair is that it tells you everything ! If your hair is getting noticeably drier, you may want to do it less. You may want to do it is a rinse treatment. It just depends on your hairs reaction.

Personally I do not like rice water. I think the bacteria from the water didn’t agree with my scalp. I would get clogged hair follicles and develop cysts when I sprayed that stuff on my scalp. I use Aloe Vera juice and distilled or spring water now and my hair loves it.
I absolutely love aloe Vera and distilled water !! I’ve been using more rose water recently but that aloe Vera hits different. I’ve had to calm down on the rice water recently due to how light my hair is I don’t want to dry it out. But now I mix it with my deep conditioning treatments and it works amazing !
Same here. I started using distilled water aloe vera juice, rose water, and tea tree oil in one of those mister bottles I see ppl talking bout. I gotta say the combination is definitely helping with the itch and odors of my scalp and locs.

I do this and yes this works , and the smell is so bad . But I don’t do it often cause it’s a protein. And I don’t want overload.
I use rose water with Jamaican castor oil and leave in conditioner that's it rice water do work but you can't use it alot to much protein
But yes when I do use it . Ima leave it in for a week lol it grows so fast . And it be so healthy. Then I stop lol cause it stink so bad
I made some as well maaan it reeks 😭
I put orange peels in my water also so it doesn't smell bad

I want to try this so bad but I can’t stand the smell of the rice.
I use a different method but you can get an essential oil of your choice (like jasmine or rose and drop a very small amount (like 2 drops ) and that will definately change the smell.. hope that helps
You can buy it in hair stores and it seems really good
When I put Lemongrass essential oil in it it smells like fruity pebbles

How long does the rice water last in the bottle? Does it expire
It does get old after a while. I say Max is 3 weeks to a month if you keep it refrigerated from my own personal experience
Ok what do u do with the leftover rice? Also , how do u dry your hair? I heard u have to sit under a dryer to prevent Mildew. Is that necessary or is air drying enough?
I throw it away. I air dry but never do a ponytail or anything like that while your locs are wet wait till they are fully dry

Very cute, but the video didn't give that much advice.... Rice water and drink water. That's pretty much it. How often do you wash your hair? 1/wk?
I have more detailed videos on my wash routine and how often. This video was mainly answering questions about the extra things I do to achieve my growth BUT to answer your question I wash my hair maybe twice a month on average ❤️

You could but it may not be strong enough to disguise the smell
