First thing I thought about him was that his playing was exactly like real sinti gypsies. Bravo Sam.

Lmaoo I see myself in the background at 11:30! Incredible playing by Sam and Andrew does such a great job of organizing the festival. It was my second year there and I highly recommend it to anyone at any level of playing!

Sam and Denis are so right. As Fiddlehed says, listening is practice, too. It is also fun! Sam sounds great backed by Denis. What a gem of an interview.

Denis likes his rhythm playing because it sounds just like Denis's rhythm playing 😉

Sam is one of the most talented yet humble folks I've met in this community. Nice to see him getting out there and sharing his gift

Love Sam's playing, thanks for interviewing him! (and Andrew too!) - that festival is so great :)

Sam, you are amazing! 👌🏼👏🏼 You definitely have the Sinti Gypsy Jazz touch! I hear a lot of the Paulus Schäfer style in your playing. 😉 Hope to see you again in the Netherlands soon! 😘

I was a bit sceptical when read the title but wow, Denis is totally right. That lad got a unique maturity in both feel and technical skill. He plays so smoothly yet so precisely.. Reminds me of Birelli. In fact mind blowing!. Hope he'll play in Europe one day and make it to the top

I attended in 2019 and was fortunate enough to have had breakfast with you Denis! DIJ was one of the best experiences of my life.

Super Sam. Top player. I remember When you Just woke up in Gerwen Sinti Camp 2018 you recorded a pair of Django s solos incredibily perfect. Born to play Django s music. Bravo Sam 👏🇮🇹

I had the pleasure of hearing Sam play in Donegal in Ireland at the Django Sur Lennon Festival. I think it was 4 years ago, and he was already sounding amazing back then.

I told Sam during one of those years, maybe 2013, he'll headline a show at DiJ someday. I think he's not far off.
Django in June is a bargain priced music camp compared to many similar others. Andrew does it at absolute minimum.

nice one. he has the same level of dynamics as tico weiss have. dynamic tone and very laidback soloing. of course if you study djangos solos. and the most important have no fear. just do it, time doesnt matter

To me is impossible to make improvisation without music theory, you can play on the records but you need a way to figure it out e apply on your sound, you're blessed with talent or you need to study, like me 😅😂 anyway great interview thanks!
