    watching the Lawley Middleway bridge get lifted into place later this year by SPMT ( self propelled modular transporters ) _ again something well worth the watch

    Superb drone footage. They are just amazing pieces of kit. great to see the footage from the air. I am stills photographer and sometimes pop down there on a Saturday when its dead quiet with my Nikons.

    The building at 14:22 is a construction shelter with a large steel arch being fabricated inside. It will be swung over the road, there will be a short stretch of concrete viaduct (I believe) and then the bridge you showed pre-assembly a little earlier in the vid.

      Like several already said. I should have read the comments first!

      I appreciate your detailed input regardless if someone already mentioned it! There is plenty more hs2 to come, so I hope to see more!

    good footage of the beginning of the construction of the "Bellingham Bridge"_ going to be impressive watching it get built over the coming months _ is there a chance of in your future videos showing some other areas of hs2 _ areas that get no coverage that I can remember _ ie as you go from this video back towards Washwood Heath _ specifically around Duddeston Mill Rd / Saltley Viaduct & Aston Church Rd _ Network Rail last summer realigned a lot of railway track outside of the Birmingham Rail operating centre _ hs2 has to cross this _ going to be a large viaduct there _ it doesn't get any coverage _ it might only be pilling rigs at present but be interesting to watch the progress _ the same applies to where hs2 crosses the M42 between J6 & J7 / along A452 by Solihull Park Way towards Coleshill Heath Rd_ I think the M42 bridge here is going to be constructed using large hollow concrete blocks ( almost lego )_ although here Birmingham Airport flight zone could be an issue _ fingers crossed there

    The bridge is literally at the start of the video under the white tarpaulin.
    The temporary structure is the bridge!😂

    • @ebsbrown4983
      @ebsbrown4983 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No, the bridge under the tarpaulin is the bridge for over the road. The Bellingham bridge is as commentated, being built beyond the railway line. The Bellingham bridge will only span the railway; it then transitions into the next bridge (under the tarpaulin) to cross the road.

    • @VitaminSteTv
      @VitaminSteTv  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ebsbrown4983 I was thinking that! The actual Bellingham bridge is being constructed in that yard where we see all the Metal! Thanks for clarifying 👍

      @@ebsbrown4983 The bridge that will have the lights on it with Arch is under the tarpaulin being constructed, it was shown on a HS2 You tube video last year.

    Great flight over the route i didnt know that they were building it in sections at height ,the white covering is over the bridge that is being built which goes over the road

      Thanks for your input! That explains the temporary structure then! ✌🏻

      Over the railway, not over the road. The road is easy enough to bridge in small sections, but the railway is such a large span that they need to construct the bridge in its entirety then slowly push it into place.

      @charliep1973 Yes similar to 'Birmingham Bridge' where they wheeled the Bridge into place I think

    That white building is a couple of viaducts and steel cross section. When they started covering it about six months ago I presumed it was protection from the elements. Perhaps someone will let us know.

      The structure covered by the white tarps and roof will be the Lawley Middleway bridge, running from the patch of land where it's currently being built offline, across Lawley Middleway (the dual carriageway) to the other side, where it will connect to Bellingham Bridge.
      Interestingly, the section over the canal, on the steel piers, will be concrete (which will make constructing the formwork fun given the lack of access from underneath), likely as it's where the Viaduct starts widening and splitting into four branches for the platform approaches.
      The protection may be something to do with it being built from weathering steel - the rusty appearance is apparently a deliberate weather protection coating which eliminates the need for painting.

      Think they're having trouble with the welding on the road over Bridge, not upto scratch, gonna be inspected soon, and on other bridges on HS2,

      The Bellingham bridge is actually being built under the "temporary building" you mentioned. A few months ago you could see the beginnings of the structure quite clearly. They may be giving the steel a coating of something which is why it's covered up at present.
