My Father who is 85 yrs now used to tell me when we were small. Late vishweshwaraiah ji was travelling in train, he felt a vibration in train & he threw his pen outside the window & in next station, he told the authorities there's some problem in the railway track few feets away from where he threw his pen. When they checked, his observation was right. Amazing thing is he told the approximate feets where the problem in the track was..
Engineer's day is celebrated on his birthday in India and Sri Lanka. He worked as a Dewan also. Even Delhi's Pink link metro station Sir M Visvesvaraya Moti bagh station is named in his honour.
