  • Part of the model railway journey we enter the area of the workshop building. Selecting the Petite properties low relief buildings was a great choice as they are the perfect fit.
    I hope you are all enjoying the shunting yard layout build and look forward to the coming videos 😊

    You’re certainly making a lovely job of building model properties!! Painting and decorating is nearly as important as the track and trains!!

    Really nice kits. Top tip, personally I'd wrap a small amount of the brick paper around the window and door frames to help add some realism.
    But they look really great as they are. I've got some building to build for my TT project that I got from a company called Scale Model Scenery. Can't wait for the next episode, you're inspiring me to make my first proper TT layout a shunting one.

    Many thanks Tris, inspirational stuff. I am working in 7mm narrow gauge and the low relief buildings look a good way to go. Might use to disguise the fiddle yard. All the best. John

    Hi Tris, The petite kits seem really good. I struggle to decide between brick paper vs embossed brickwork. The paper has nicer colours and can look brilliant from abit of a distance but close up it loses some of the depth. Embossed can look better closer up (and doesn't get affected by uv and damp etc) but it can lack some of the perfect colour variation unless you really invest time in it. Either way they look great on your layout. Cheers

    Great video and great little builds. Just a quick ine, what are they made out of? Looks like MDF or maybe hardboard? My layout is in a shed so wondering if they will cope with a little damp air in the winter.

    Hi neal just wondering are you going to be putting a single road engine shed on the layout. Also love your track plan on the layout

    Looking good so far. Did you consider adding another hindged section on the opposite side of the existing one to extend the layout further and even up the footprint?

    Hi Tris.
    There's a dead cat on the screen behind you. He/she must have stepped on a live rail on your layout. 🤣

    Good evening Tris!! Are you working on a shunting puzzle project? A lot of people would think that my small layout is a bit of a shunting puzzle, but I am using it as my Dad’s Army layout.

    Those buildings looks nice but rather than the paper brick I'd use some Redutex 3D brick or stone sheets which are self adhesive. They have too different roofings, from slate to tile and metal (industrial). A bit more expensive (about £9 for a 35 x 15 cm average surface) but the end result will be way more realistic and also easier to weather or repaint.

    This is really coming together nicely!
    What about a semaphore gantry as entrance, and a single semaphore leaving?

    • @OONeal
      @OONeal  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, the gantry would Be out of view if it were to have one so I think just one before leaving which will keep things simple too 😊
