    I have heard some people say you cannot develop perfect pitch. If I hear someone say that again I will show them this video. You are truly blessed

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think they are correct. I don’t have perfect, and in my 17 years of music I don’t know of anyone who’ve successfully developed perfect pitch. I know a hand full of people with perfect pitch and they all seem to born with that skill. What I have is good relative pitch and I’ve worked hard at to develop.

    Hello I’m a 17 yr old girl inspired by this version of the song. I was planning to play another beautiful prelude for church but above all by yohan kim rlly came to my mind and I wanted to play it, but I don’t have a sheet music yet. Thank you for breaking the song down though, I learned a lot of chords I couldn’t catch. I’m playing on November 7. Thank you for this video, keep it up sir!

    Again Yohan has great technique. He does those classical runs really well. You tell Yohan really studies and practice.
    The challenge for me is how to voice those chords, especially the left hand. I really need to learn the Minor scales and Tri-tone Substitutions🎹🎶🎹🎶🎹🎶🎹🎶🎹

    I don't have perfect pitch, but sometimes when I'm playing I remember a song and begin to soloing it. Then when I go to listening to the original one, almost every time I was playing in the correct tune or very close it.

    • @dragorn3212
      @dragorn3212 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started trying to learn perfect pitch but i found i couldn't consistently remember notes and i found as my relative pitch developed more i actually had to sacrifice even more perfect pitch. My pitch is now so bad i will routinely recall songs several half steps flat or sharp. But it was worth it for my relative ear

    Another way to look at the VII (mi7b5) is it is a 1st inversion of a V9 chord, it is a rootless dominant 9th chord.

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but theoretically that wouldn’t work, as we’d be saying it’s A7(b9) going to F#7 - which I don’t believe there’s any example of this any where. It defies the laws of western music theory, even in the jazz world
