FYI, this car also comes with a timing chain instead of a timing belt, which is a huge plus (if it's reliable that is).
I have one of these, it handles so well.

Perhaps a better comparison would be a spiritual successor to the original Mini, MK1/MK2 Golf GTI, Peugot 205 GTI, etc. It's lightweight, affordable, practical, and has enough performance to be fun without getting into trouble at high speeds. It's not the fastest car in its price range, but it's probably the most enjoyable. A refreshing change from the 300-400hp 1500+kg hot hatches of today.
Love this car i have one and they are fun! The original sound is a little bit to silent but it sounds nice.

my swift sport 2008 seems quite different with some of the features it has like my wheels are only 15 inch sport wheels not the 16inch although my is manual. i brought her about a yr ago for 1500 up in QLD AU and i paid about a extra 100 or less to get it rwc

Swift and Golf GTI arent comparable. I've driven both.
Golf GTI is brutal in acceleration because 2.0 turbo, but awful in handling because it weigh around 1500 kg.
Swift is awful in acceleration but amazing in handling because its only weigh around 1000 kg.
You could never be confindent taking corners in GTI as in Swift.
You could never accelerate straight the Swift as fast as in GTI.
Really its day n night difference in handling vs acceleration, why u compare the incomparable.
I think what he means by drawing the comparison is that the Suzuki Swift Sport is a smaller and cheaper way of having the hot-hatch experience. I don't think that he refers to the cars' dynamics per se.
It's not wise to turbo the weak engine. Will give you reliability and driveability issue. But small supercharger to add mild 20-25 hp from small boost is interesting and maybe still give reliability and driveability. Because building powerful NA engine is very costly.
