His first Minuet 4:24 is unique like Gould himself. No one plays it like this. I wonder if there is a score sheet for this particular interpretations. The left hand is reinvented apparently by he.
I play this version. Not like Gould, but the notes are all there. The only real difference in notes is he adds a left-hand descending run embellishment on the 3rd measure of the Menuet 1st movement, and the left hand is totally different in the 2nd movement measures 31-35 . I play it the way Gould does, and I've heard other versions the same way (both piano & harpsicord). So I'm not sure who the publisher was, but it's not unique to Gould. Try 8Notes
Much too fast, without any empathy. Bach himself was before his time and a visionary to go over the limits of music in his time.If he had these possibilitis of later times , he would have used it. Gould plays on cembalo or clavichord style.
empathy like what, excessive rubato or dynamic markings? none of that is needed and Bach would still only use simple dynamics to not be overly pretentious. The modern Bach (Conlon Nancarrow) used only terraced dynamics anyway
It's a miracle, I can listen to Gould's rendition on TH-cam again!
Impeccable technique.
Not only a hero but a God❤
oh my hero~
Allemande - 0:00

Minuet II - 5:48

Thank you very much for uploading. With Bach played by GG I feel much more alive than without him.
@@ekaterinasladkova6757 agreed, just wish, at times, would play the damned repeats
Amazing! So fast and so grasping. A class of his own. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Ah my favorite version of this piece

Gould is never my favorite. But I respect doing this a little differently than normal.
Did Gould play it on a piano tuned to 432 or did you drop it technically?
💖🎉
Ok I preffer Mr. Schiff in this one...
