Hola Sr. Gonzalez: It's not the drone shots, though they are without equal. It's not even the magnificently beautiful country and it's history you've captured, and it's not the culture and comraderie that I have a long history with along with my best friends from Espana and my days in the military there, and my solo bicycle trips through the Iberian peninsula.....That scenery and country you bring to life for me again brings tears to my eyes. What God has created, you bring into view and choreograph like no one else.
Indeed, it is YOU.... sir, whose demeanor, warm attitude, smiles and inviting presence makes your travelogs such therapy. Do not stop, please, whatever you are doing behind the scenes. I will find a way to support you to continue what no one else does for me.
Without ambiguity, I say: You make my long brain-crushing days worthwhile when I am finally able sit down to watch you. I will return to complete the primary "Way" then the Norte, next year.
I salute you in the most respectful, vigorous way because I know your family must support you on those long deployments even if you're having fun; you're working too. I hope Hollywood doesn't try to lure you away....You do a service to mankind that no one will match.
thank you Peter for your beautiful words
Amen, Peter!
Pilgrim wingman in the background.... 4:51.....this guy is an absolute legend 🫡
Your Videos bring me right back to walking the Norte , muchas muchas gracias a ti para este muy espacial pelicula , tu eres muy bueno
I appreciate you're honest representation of the Norte! I started the Norte in late sept. 2017 as my first camino.. and this was the stage where I decided to transfer to the frances via bus/train to continue there. My American norte guidebook was very off in terms of distances and services, I was alone with no other pilgrims, and the vlogs I had previously seen had not accurately portrayed the route (they definitely took a lot of cabs at different stages and stayed in almost all private accommodations/hotels not albergues - something I realized only while doing the stages myself). I really did enjoy the first week or so of the Norte even with all the issues I encountered but am really happy I switched to the Frances to have my first camino have a more traditional first camino experience with more pilgrims and more services. Thank you for such a well made Vlog! Found you while planning my second Camino.
I really like that at the end with the map showing your walk from start to finish. Where you back tracked, took a different route etc. Nice 👌
it gives context to the vlog.
Hi Efren. Great vlogs. They are not just informative and entertaining. You make it in such a way that we are part of your journey while heightening our interest to do the camino myself! Cinematography, photography, narration, and music are perfect. The map is also excellent. But I miss the explanation and history of the edifices and the cost per day, too.
thank you. I decided to leave that information for the map videos that I will do once I finish with the vlogs
@@Walk_with_Efren, thanks for clarifying. I am looking forward to it. That gives me enough reason to anticipate what you will be up to in the future.
Walking on the side of a highway....ugh! I dont regret taking the Dragonte/Pradela Route fromVillafranca del Bierzo to Ambasmestas when we did part of the Camino Frances. Scenic, quiet compared to the lower route along the highway. Nice video amigo! Can’t wait for the next one!
that's good advice
It's Linda again - such a day of contrasts! Urban noise and congestion, mountains and sea, industry, plants and horses, what a wonderful day to see on del Norte. Thanks!
a little bit of everything
Looking at the video I already feel the cold and the rain. Imagine how it is when you really walk there.
Your Videos bring me right back to walking the Norte, especially the rain.
I was supposed to arrive to Liendo on the 14th April but fate has intervened, I pray for all Spain. Thank you for sharing. PS I love the cold and the wet.
Congratulations Efren on your recognition from your Camino across Europe..... lots of future pilgrims once quarantine ends will look forward to hitting the road thanks to your tireless efforts 👍
For weeks I’ve been hooked on your videos
Just returned from Pamplona from SJPP- 7 years ago I did Galicia… guaripola? With all your travels some airlines mileage could be used for emergency hotels
Always remember that airports also have last minute hotels available
In Bilbao I always use both at the airport
Felicitaciones y café con leche 😊
I like Noel's poncho...hehehehehehehehe
I remember this stage - all rain & wind..arriving at the albergue which was so cozy and warm was the best feeling ever :-D
Greetings, Efrén, amazing video :-)
thank you Sara. I'm glad you like them.
So this is where you met Noel, he was very quite at the start but he must of made a difference to you along the way
Buenísimo !!! Que risas recordando aquel día de lluvia y aquella gran pelea con el poncho 😁 gran trabajo una vez más amigo , enhorabuena !!! 🔝🔝🔝👌
oye por lo menos no esta lloviendo jaja
Jajaja e o no 🥴
Yeah, rainy days are tough days indeed. :-(
I had a lot of chores planned for the quarantine, but i hurt my shoulder. So, I am really glad you are editing/posting camino del norte. It gives me something to look forward to.
sorry to hear about your shoulder. enjoy the videos and get better soon.
@@Walk_with_Efren Thanks! I always enjoy your vlogs!
Hola Efren, as always I absolutely love your videos! By far the best by a long shot. I walked the Camino Frances two years ago and am itching to get back on the trail again. I'd love to hear your take sometime on which of the camino's you have walked (Frances, Portugues, Francigena, Norte) is your favorite, or at least the pros and cons of each. While I'd love to do the Frances again, these videos are making me want to do the Norte and Portugues as well sometime :)
thank you Kevin. there are so many caminos to choose from in Spain that I would not repeat until I finish at the mayor routes.
@@Walk_with_Efren Sounds like a good plan! Ojala que nos veamos en el camino pronto :)
Is there a lot of asphalt on the Norte, I would like to do but hate asphalt. I did Assisi to Vatican and there was a lot of it, didn't like that. I enjoy your video thanks
thank you so much Grady. there is a little bit of both. I wouldn't say it's all asphalt.
yes rainy days are not good for the drone. I used Altra boots but during the Portuguese route a couple of holes on the side of the boot opened up and water was free to get in and out. other than that the boots were amazingly conformable. yes in Castro two path meet. you can take two routes out of Onton. the one I followed was shorter and next to the road, i took it because it was a rainy day. I'll talk more about this when i do the map video for this stage.
Hey Efrén, any chance you finally found a real waterproof "Camino" shoes? I'm struggling to find the real deal.
I'm using altra's Olympus 5, but they are not waterproof. On the contrary, the water flows in and out.
Efren, Your videos are the best. But, during this pandemic everyone should stay home. You should be at your home.
this was last year
Are you in Europe right now? You made a comment about April fools but I thought you had recorded the trip last year. Whether you are in Europe or here, please take care of yourself!
this time last year. specific dates and daily cost breakdown on the video's description.
Harsh day, like bank holidays in U.K.
You looked whacked...🤐😬👍
😂😂
