Depende de qué tipo de metal escuches. Si escuchas puro heavy metal antiguo y sin cambios (o cualquier subgénero de metal que no haya tenido mucho cambio desde su surgimiento), entonces esto no te gustará nada y te parecerá un caos. I enjoyed Nobody. It wasn't what I was expecting first time but after a few listens it grew on me as it's own thing. Both of these tracks have a kind of similar production that gives both tracks a sense of shared identity even if they are polar opposites in structure.
Edit: this song makes a lot more sense on a second listen. It kinda sounds like a set of TV commercials and that seems to fit in the lyrical ideas that seem to be somewhat about greed and corporate strategy/capitalism/consumerism ("We love you" obviously referring to the idea of appealing to consumers). It all builds (see what I did there?!) up to the final chorus before everything just... chills. The ending is like a deep breath and appreciation of something more natural or simple (the production suggests this too, with the left in string noises from the guitar slide). Very arty song.

This shit is pure chaos and I’m all for it, I greatly respect that they’re one of the biggest metal bands in the world yet they’re making completely off the walls shit with pretty much no commercial appeal, dudes are just making the music they want to make and don’t give a shit about sales or the music being divisive etc.
Can’t wait to hear whatever other crazy shit is on here, supposedly some of the stuff on the 2nd half of the album is even more experimental and off the walls than either of these 2 singles.

I assume that gotta be the same song that someone was talking about when they mentioned a club banger. I keep telling people avenged sevenfold has always been different every single album. They don’t want to be stuck in the same genre for 20 years straight. If they keep making music that the fans want them to produce, you’re also making the artists sad for not having freedom control over their own work.
The fans might be happy because they got what they want, but for the artist themselves, it’s not what they want to do. 🌏

  • @luvsavengedsevenfold

This certainly isn't the first time Avenged Sevenfold has done slide guitar (commonly associated with blues music, think Elmore James). They did slide guitar on Tonight the World Dies from Nightmare, and they utilized it a bit on Gunslinger from their self-titled album.
Overall, it's probably not the best track for working out - but it is definitely very progressive. It's certainly not the first time Avenged Sevenfold went progressive, but it might be the first time they went way out.
I'm definitely looking forward to Avenged Sevenfold's new album!! \m/ \m/

I think Avenged is going on the path of Opeth when they turned Prog. I love it and think you are totally right about it \,,/

The first listen for me nearly killed my eardrums, but now, I think I understand the the appeal a little bit more.

Every album they do is completely unlike any other album. And I've loved everything. This is one of the best songs they've ever made. Only thing is the lyrics don't seem as profound as some of their other stuff. But maybe there's something I'm missing.

Sorry, but personally, it sounds absolutely awful to me.
When the guitars need to stand out, they fade into the background.
When a good, rhythmic groove needs to be emphasized, the drums fade into the background.
The guitar solo is completely out of context. And, honestly, there is no context in the song. The song tries to be progressive, with a complex structure, but it's just random guitar riffs.
I've never written negative comments on reaction videos before. But here, there's no choice, I'm sorry.

Idk that you can say people have lost their personal opinions just because they “like everything A7X releases”. I had to listen to this quite a few times because I wasn’t sure about it on first listen. But I wanted to analyze this song hard before hearing or seeing others’ reactions. I’ve generally liked most of their music, because it feels genuine to their goals as a band. I do like Nobody more as a single right now. However, I feel this is going to be an album we need to listen to in order to properly digest it. It wouldn’t be my choice as a single, but I’m glad they’re not following the flow of things and doing what they want.

There are very few bands out today that are willing to experiment like this. Most are content to churn out radio friendly songs that take little talent to record.

This is way different to what everyone else is doing, even more than what Falling in Reverse and BMTH is doing, props to A7X for changing things up.
