There's debate as to whether the kv rating has any effect on torque so a higher/lower rated kv motor may not make any difference to punch. A higher kv motor will just give you a faster top speed in 2s.
The GoolRC 3900kv motor is already maxed out on 3s as it will spin at 49,140 rpm. The motor is only rated to go 50,000 rpm.
A different brand of motor can spin at 60,000rpm and some go upto 100,000 rpm but they will cost more and I can't recommend any as I haven't used them.
Just for giggles I am going to upgrade my motor and ESC to 120 amp 4s and a larger 1/8th scale 2500kv motor as I have them laying with nothing to go so will let you know how that goes and whether it will actaully fit! It will probably just end up blowing the diff 🤣

@@budgetrccars9385 so would the brushless motor with a 2s battery be sufficient or would you say 3s with the conversion is the way to go. Parts are in my cart ready to go.

2s will be fine. You will notice a substantial increase in performance over the brushed motor.

@@budgetrccars9385 thanks mate. Essentially I am just looking to keep up with my son's xinlehong q901 brushless, both in pull off, top speed and battery life. The stock standard MT battery (2s element + 1800mah) given me 10-15 mins sedate driving. Not sure if the battery is a dud.
