QUICK AND EASY SOUTHERN CABBAGE RECIPE HD 1080p

  • Ingredients:
    2- medium cabbages
    2- low sodium chicken broth (optional) water can be used as well
    1- tablespoon of minced garlic
    1- medium onion chopped
    1- cup mushrooms chopped (optional)
    2- cups of multi colored bell peppers (optional)
    1- smoked turkey leg fully cooked
    1/2 cup of brown sugar
    2/3 cup of white vinegar
    1- stick of butter
    Garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper, and black pepper to taste
    Directions:
    1. Rinse cabbage, pat dry and cut into fours, remove the middle core.
    2. In a large pot add chicken broth over medium heat, add in cabbage, minced garlic, onions, butter, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
    3. Add your smoked turkey meat (cook it in a crockpot on low setting for 6 hours or cut it up into pieces so that it can cook through evenly in the cabbage) add brown sugar and vinegar.
    4. Cover and Simmer for about 25 to 30 minutes if it was previously cooked in Crock-Pot, or cook 35 to 40 minutes if cooking it in cabbage.
    5. Toss cabbage while cooking, cook to your desired firmness. When cabbage is done remove turkey bone.
