Bro seeing that stuff actually makes you even more relatable. I know you got that nerd tendencies like me. I'm 6'5 250 lb black man and the first time I had some friends over at my apartment and they saw all my Star wars books organized on a shelf and my Marvel/DC comic in plastic. They were a little shocked. But come to find out they were fans as well. So trust there's more nerds in us than we let on.

I want a more cushion shoe for a daily trainer shoe for padel-tennis on articfi grass. Standing long time on my feet’s. Concept same as I do for running, cushion daily trainer and more firmer for tempo running.
The sole of both looks like a herribobon sole. I used indoor artificial grass with no sand on the surface and other court a liltle.
I have a medium wide flat foot and podo sole.

For anyone curious, I played in this colorway of the GT Cut 3’s and the ASG blue/green colorway. Both are very comfortable but, if you can get your hands on the ASW version (on sale now)…do it. Super light, super responsive. Also, throw out the insole immediately and throw in a Move insole. You will be thrilled.

I am curious to know if ZoomX bottoms out quickly over a short period of time.
My original Nike Invincible ZoomX still works great and that came out around 2020
Would love to play in them, but i am not playing enough to justify the price. They may be worth it for someone, but not for me :)
Love the GT range but yeah I’m done buying sneaks for now got way too many rn. As for toys I remember way back when I was 8 yrs old I went to a friend’s house and he had a Star Scream transformer toy but it was made out of metal and the transform sequence was intricate like a rubix cube….best toy I’ve ever seen.
Shout out to the Little Monsters shirt though. Howie Mandell at his finest! Saw that movie in theaters as a kid.
I agree with most of this review and I'm def a fan of weartesters, but the GT cut 3 does lack torsion support in my experience, especially on hard lateral cuts. Granted, I'm a heavier hooper (200lbs, 6ft). Still tho, the gt cut 3 is awesome for its cushion, traction, and very lightweight design.
The shoe is worn by taller and heavier athletes in the NBA without issue. The plate in the shoe makes them un-twistable. What you’re likely experiencing is lack of support from the upper or heel counter. Torsion isn’t the issue.

How would you rank these vs D Book 1s vs Big 3.0 Quick Pro? Theyre on sale 120, books are 110, quick 3s are 130 but have to go via their hong kong website which is a bit of a hassle

Wait a minute, Chris plays basketball? Seriously though, great review! This is the kind of tech I wish had been around when I was playing basketball several days a week. The whole concept of a basketball shoe that feels like a running shoe was just alien back then--the closest they got in my playing days was the Air Jet Flight (Steve Nash's model). I bought every pair of those I could find on clearance and played in them for a few years. If the Zoom Hyperflight weren't ankle-breakers and/or the plastic upper ever actually broke in, they could've been a candidate too.
I’ll always appreciate these performance reviews even though I hoop way less than I used to because of old age

Man, I love toys, but sneakers are the first love. Toys are great but once you display them, that’s about it. Sneakers, I can display or wear. Would make for more content, really.
They look like a chunkier version of their tennis line of sneakers the Court/GP series.(3:00-3:04) Heel area of the midsole needs a bit extra widening. If you're taller heavier that part could cause some pain.

Question-- Do you think our opinion of the price or shoes now days is influenced by the variety that we have now? Example the Jordan 29 was 225... but when I see say 190-200 for sneaks today I think that's high now days.. What do you think?

I have the Gt cut and the academy and i can barely tell the difference in the performance between the two. I think the reg GT Cut has a tad more initial step in comfort. Oh yea. Chris. Where do you play? Might come run a few games with you

This one was worth it just for the look at the toy wall.
GT cut 3’s just didn’t work for me. Every time I hooped in them for only about 1 hour, both my pinky toes would have blisters on them. I went with my true to size, and even had a good amount of toe space. The sides of this shoe are a little snug imo, so maybe I needed a size up. Cushion is the best part of this shoe & the traction is decent, only works great on clean floors.
I wouldn’t recommend dropping $170+ on these, would be better off getting some KD’s or Kobe’s
I don’t know what it is about “nerd” culture and basketball that just works so well. I’ve always been into comics and superhero’s, action figures, AND basketball. I feel like stereotypically it makes 0 sense, but trust me there’s a lot of hoopers that enjoy their “nerd” stuff

I have a handful of action figures next to my editing desk, but not many. Just some fave characters... jason voorhees, freddy krueger, the funko Jordan BC3 freethrow line, Master Chief from Halo, classic Goku, Deadpool, etc.

My new (pastel) GT Cut 3s are WAY stiffer than my broken in (picante) pair. I wonder if they've changed the plastic compound in the plate or it is just a consequence of break in. The newer stiffer feeling is perfect!
