Once you got it back together were the tolerances ok? Considering taking mine apart and mirror polishing the blade but am scared of disassembling a back lock
Just bought one of these today, secondand. Noticed that the locking mechanism doesn't want to stay closed- I can apply slight pressure to the blade & it will close. I took it apart to clean & man- it was in bad shape. Still, the lock doesn't want to work. Any idea what to do? Contact Spyderco & send it in for repairs?
+Lord Pyro Their customer service is pretty good but with the knife being second hand they might not wanna help you out... give them a call and see what they say... good luck...
I've contacted them recently about another knife needing some screws. Said they've sent them to me, but it's been almost three months now. Seems like it takes forever for them to respond to an email, too.
has anyone else found that the endura 4 is extremely difficult to open one handed. i see all these videos of people flicking their sydercos like its nothing. mines even difficult opening two handed. its tight. i wonder if thats just its stock form. do i needa loosen up something?
It's obvious this is the first time you've done this. practice first before you show it and I've got some 15 plus years old spydercos that still function flawlessly without being disassembled. They are self cleaning and if it real bad I run hot water through them and then light lubricant just my two cents
You deserve more credit for getting that metal spring on so fast!! took my 30 minutes of trial error..
Haha, thanks man!
Thanks for the vid. I couldn't get mine back together until I saw your way.
+Adam Long Cool, glad it was helpful...
I have a Benchmade that I've been EDCing for the past five or so years. I really should do this.
Benchmade makes great knives
We learn from your mistakes. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, I could see what I was doing just fine but I think the camera needed more. Thanks for the comment and watching...
Great video " what micro size star or tork bits is for disassemble did you use?
AlbyBound thanks man, I used a Husky Set it doesn't have the sizes... :(
AlbyBound 6 and 8 torx for anybody still wondering
Yeah, it was fine once it was back together, thanks for watching...

I purchased some 7075 Aluminum and am making a piece to hold the locking bar in place. Mine was some sort of plastic material.

They should be easy to open, perhaps your pivot screw is too tight?
millionairejh I had to loosen my pivot screw

Sadly it does void you warranty:(
Folders are too high maintenance. I'd rather just edc a nice fixed blade and just wipe it off when it gets dirty.
It’s a fair point 👍
Yeah, that kind of sucks...
