    While I appreciate your effort in describing the process, a few recommendations are in order, first when disconnecting your battery don’t leave metal tools between the posts strange things happen around batteries, second disconnect and move the negative cable away from the terminal because in your video you removed it then placed it right beside the terminal and I can see it’s still in contact with the terminal. Third and most important, when cleaning your mass air meter/ sensor use a mass air sensor cleaner not a carb cleaner, they are a very sensitive piece of equipment. Hope it worked out for you good attempt a sharing you experience

    • @666ImI666

      Then you unhooked it and left the ground wire touching the post, you dropped a scew and left you ratchet between the two leads on the battery(potentially dangerous). Also yes this can work but note all emission data gets reset when you unhook the battery. So you should of drove the car for a half hour at different speeds. I am not a mechanic and I make mistakes too. But if your going to teach pple how to DIY learn the basics at a minimum.

Then @2:18 he decided, well darn it all to heck, a wrench won't budge it, lemme try my fingers (turning the wrong way again). He decides to "ratchet" things up a notch @2:21 and guesses the right direction this time. LOL

    Hello
    Could you tell me how you diagnosed the problem?
    Did you have a code P0420 in the ECU?

  • @mehdischultz8341
    @mehdischultz8341 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    To fix this problem, you replace the BUT actuator near or by the turbo , which constantly causes it to throw errors on the emission system issue.

    • @mehdischultz8341
      @mehdischultz8341 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Another thing I want to mention, I have this same problem on my wife's 07 rdx. After further inspection and shop replacing the VGT actuator which absolutely did nothing and was a pointless replacement part.
      The turbo itself should have been inspected which I did myself after my wife took her car in and supposedly the professional fixed it. Not! To keep it simple the turbo has a piston ring, which we will call a seal, that gets worn out in some cases which causes oil to leak in the turbo which it should not, and that oil goes into the intake system , and intercooler which also is a bad! Another issue she had was the cool side of the turbo theres a coolant line to airflow breather that line someone is loose and causing coolant to leak. So, inspect the turbo even though it's operating and spooling boost. It's not normal for that check engine light to be ever. And especially not normal for you to be driving around a vehicle with boost performance system issues. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They're completely wrong and don't let them work on your car, because they're not truly fixing anything , they just want to take your money and sound very professional and polite doing so, at the end your turbo will eventually blow and most likely get pieces of the turbine and metal shavings into cat exhaust pipe and possibly shavings of metal mixtures into your oil inside the engine block. That's terrible! Big no no..metal to metal contact never a good thing. I hope this can help anyone out there .
      The real fix, would be replacing the whole turbo or having someone inspect it properly and replace the turbo cartridge for sure, and anything else that might need replacing VGT actuator rod link, the valves, the wastegate, vacum lines etc. Good luck. It's a very big job, and honestly easiest way to remove that turbo would be getting a engine hoist and pulling the entire swap out and removing the turbo and reinstalling the new turbo. It's a real head ache. That's why acura charges so much. And other places dont want to even mess with it unless it's a brand new oem turbo . Because they've ran into problems with many prior rdx s with replacement turbo failures because the Chinese made turbos are junk and fail instantly and shops held liable.

    • @jacobofrescas
      @jacobofrescas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ Mehdi Schultz , so did anything actually fix it? I have the same light on my 2007 RDX Acura that light and also the SH-AWD light on.

    • @mehdischultz8341
      @mehdischultz8341 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jacobofrescas great question. The first thing I may add is that. I turbo seal went out, and was shooting oil all in the air intake system. I ended up replacing the turbo very costly btw. Depending on how many miles, the factory oem turbo fails at or around 150k miles. Dealership even told me it fails and only manufactured life expectation is 150k miles. So, also it throws two error codes evap because it's been poorly running. And shooting oil into places where it shouldn't be. So, the evap module and canister could also need replacing. It's a very exspensive job. And it's a hard job I might ad as well. I think your turbo might be failing as well. If you can I would take your intake piping off and there's a bypass valve that has a black plastic pipe connected to the lower intake part I would remove that and examine see if you see oil inside and also if you can pull the intercooler off if oils is inside as well that means your turbo seal has gone bad and its either time for a brand new turbo or rebuilding yours. Good luck.
